Ruthless Technomancer

Creature — Human Wizard

When this enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice another creature you control. If you do, create a number of Treasure tokens equal to that creature's power. (They're artifacts with ", Sacrifice this: Add one mana of any colour.)

, Sacrifice X artifacts: Return target creature card with power X or less from your graveyard to the battlefield. X can't be 0.

Hey UltimateRoxas40!

I had the same thing, I just kept looking for that Jund deck that could scratch my graveyard itch. I tried Ziatora first but it was a bit lackluster, though in this deck it's an absolute beast. The deck has been an absolute blast to play since it just works out differently every time. The other day I killed the table with 18 damage from Cavalier of Flame dieing. Another game I won with the classic Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Lord of Extinction doing 48 damage. And another I just won with Bladewing, Deathless Tyrant and zombie tokens swarming the board.

Like it says in the primer my group has kind of avoided infinites for the most part. I've even ended up cutting Dockside Extortionist since it almost always could go infinite when it appeared. But if you intend to run some infinites I'd pitch Dockside Extortionist, Sprouting Thrinax, Pitiless Plunderer, Ruthless Technomancer and maybe also include Ashnod's Altar in addition to Phyrexian Altar(Which is already in) for infinite mana. Though for infinites I'd almost lean more into an aristocrats build rather than the stompy creatures since there's so much value to be had there.

I've considered Etali, Primal Conqueror  Flip briefly but it never made the cut because stealing wasn't something I was after with this deck (I already have 2 decks with quite a few steal effects in them) and I felt that the flip cost was too expensive compared to throwing in something big and dumb like Ghalta, Primal Hunger. Though admittedly I might give Etali a look again because Ghoulcaller Gisa has been kind of dissapointing, so the new Etali might get to fill that slot instead.

Hello friend! I have some suggestions! I had way too much time today, so here you go.

Relatively cheap, potent, and just perfect upgrades.

This bit is, of course, focused on making as many treasures as your board can bear.

Great, now you have all of these treasures, now what are you going to do with them?

  • Frogmite, Lens Flare, Scale of Chiss-Goria, Tooth of Chiss-Goria, Mycosynth Golem, Slag Strider, Furnace Dragon, and Myr Enforcer are all notable cards you could add, since they pretty much become free after a while, though mostly pretty useless.

  • Forsworn Paladin is pretty good token generation early game, but really shines with the second ability where it can instantly punish anyone blocking or attacking you recklessly.

  • Marionette Master is going to pack a punch.

  • Dargo, the Shipwrecker is super cheap for a 7/5 with trample.

  • Enraged Giant, Freejam Regent, Battle at the Bridge, Saheeli's Directive, Herald of Anguish, and Organic Extinction are all pretty solid additions, since they don’t make you sacrifice anything in exchange for it.

  • Ruthless Technomancer has a million combos with (like Dockside Extortionist+sac outlet) and is just pretty good on its own.

  • Leonin Elder is just one life, but when you’re playing a treasure deck, that one life will definitely add up.

  • Underhanded Designs is a murder or a poke engine, which is very snazzy.

  • Glaze Fiend is pretty scary, considering that it has trample.

  • Dragonspark Reactor could be a bit of removal in your back pocket or your wincon.

  • Arcbound Crusher’s design team didn’t anticipate just how many artifacts I was planning on throwing onto the field.

  • Professional Face-Breaker is just like Grim Hireling, in that it makes treasure tokens, but more importantly, it gives you something else. You get a load of impulse draw, which is really nice when you have loads of mana.

  • Magda, Brazen Outlaw is just an artifact tutor, really. Though, there are plenty of treasure loving dragons you could also fish for. (:

  • Kalain, Reclusive Painter loves treasures, giving everyone big buffs.

  • Swashbuckler Extraordinaire can give anything that might be sensitive to dying double strike for a big final push. That, or just give one big boy double strike.

  • Their Number is Legion gets you lots of life and lots of tokens.

  • Necron Overlord is just a worse Ghirapur, but it’s still gonna hurt.

  • Street Urchin is the same idea as the above.

  • Armix, Filigree Thrasher could be some annoying removal, especially early game.

  • Hellkite Igniter is a big boy that, if left unblocked, could be a one hit kill.

  • Feedback Bolt is a big, powerful spell. To put it simply: ouch.

  • Fain, the Broker can make treasures, can make +1/+1’s, and can make little spooky boys. The best type of boys. Great utility and variety overall.

  • Rain of Riches is big. One cascading spell a turn, whichever one you want? Imagine dropping Feedback Bolt and cascading into Hellkite Igniter.

  • Captain Lannery Storm is innocent… Until you leave her unblocked like a dummy.

  • Concussive Bolt can be an easy kill, letting you get as much damage as you want through.

  • Dispense Justice is just like saying “Fuck your voltron.”

  • It seems you also like having and sacrificing constructs, so here’s a bit to let you do more of that, if you’d prefer to have a construct deck over a treasure token deck.

    • Shared Animosity will give constructs a boost, but there really isn’t a specific theme across creature types aside from that, and your constructs are better used for chump blocking or just turning them into scrap. Ignore this if you’re going for more of a construct tribal sort of thing.

    • Fable of the Mirror-Breaker  Flip is a good card, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think it’s really necessary.

    • Rakdos Charm could be replaced with something better as far as artifact removal or graveyard hate. Nihil Spellbomb would be good graveyard hate and Generous Gift is just a good white staple.

    • Comet Storm is fun, but Crackle with Power is more fun.

Triton thanks for the vote and suggestions:)

Rise and Shine looks very good, I’d missed that one!

The other suggestions I did / would consider, but I’ll give you my reasons for why they aren’t in the build.

Riddlesmith doesn’t actually draw as many cards as the Koi, as it triggers on cast where as Kointriggers on ETB, so the koi triggers off Mishra’s tokens. I also found there to be enough draw in the Artifact triggers.

However, Skullclamp could actually go in as a replacement, I have found that I’m often not even casting Koi in the play tests, I’ve had turns with 2 coveted jewel triggers and drawn 6 on turn 6, and clamp would benefit from the death of the token too.

Trophy Mage was in the build until I Put Arcum Dagsson inas that’s repeatable and he can sacrifice the tokens made my mishra.

And finally Ruthless Technomancer was considered for a while but I realised I’m not running enough artifacts I want to sacrifice and not making mass tokens to benefit from his ability, at first I did lean into treasures but as the build progressed realised it was a more efficient to not have the treasure production and have more value with Mishra if that makes sense?

Nice seeing another Mishra deck! I was going to post my own take on the artificer as well!

I'd recommend Treasure Mage as a tutor, he gets all your really high-cmc, powerful artifacts easily. I've also been thinking of finding space for Ruthless Technomancer as creature recursion.

I'd highly recommend Skullclamp in the 99, as you can clamp a token and sac it easily to draw an extra two cards! Rise and Shine is another Awakener/finisher.

While it's not as beefy, Riddlesmith is a cheaper-CMC Skyswimmer Koi.

Hope all these suggestions help, there are a lot of cool cards to abuse with Mishra's ability! Here is my take on Mishra if you want to check out my list as well!
