Cards: Rune of Protection: Artifacts, || Rune of Protection: Black, || Rune of Protection: Blue, || Rune of Protection: Green, || Rune of Protection: Red, || Rune of Protection: White.

I know it highly differs on the meta, but if you had to run only two of these cards in your deck and they had to be present for any given playgroup you'd find yourself in which ones would you include in your deck and why?

Also yes, I know Story Circle exists however, that doesn't mean every game I play I'm going to want a damage prevention effect. I like the Rune of Protection cards as they offer cycling if there's absolutely no need for any damage prevention.

Museless on A Queen Needs No Crown

The Rune of Protection spells are interesting, because the only time I've really had anyone get salty with me for them are mono-color decks, or mono-brown decks against Rune of Protection: Artifacts. Mostly, though, the table has bigger things to worry about, especially with the monarchy going around in the Marchesa version. I used to run this shell with Tariel, Reckoner of Souls at the helm, but Queen Marchesa is just a strictly speaking upgrade for the list. Often, underused colors just get the Protection cycled, and I can politically explain that they're there if they're relevant, or they're cantrips if they're not. That lowers sodium levels.

I'll have to think about Crown of Doom. It's interesting, especially since I feel like people will try to move it onto whoever holds the Monarchy. I do, though, think that with the card comes the peril of it backfiring on me, which I don't necessarily like. I'm not a creature-based combat deck, either, so I won't be personally benefiting from the power buff; if I'm winning with Commander damage, I'm doing it wrong.
