Tyler Told Me To Check Out Your Deck
Alright so let's look at the commander first: Rubinia Soulsinger
So basically she is a five mana, three color, poor man's, Mind Control...
And she dies to Doomblade which basically is a testament to how crappy she is.
So what I am gathering from your decklist is that you want a control deck?
I'd start with a commander that is decent: Giltspire Avenger is basically a Royal Assassin. Or you can run Derevi, Empyrial Tactician which gives control when playing creatures. Or even Stoic Angel which is like a creature based Winter Orb. I'd personally go Derevi, Empyrial Tactician in this deck.
The Actual Deck
Okay so the deck itself looks mainly like you bought a couple of Fat Packs, and thought you could make use of the commons and decided to throw them into a deck. These are pretty terrible, and if you are drawing one card a turn, most of the time everything you draw is never going to impact the board in any significant way.
For example, let's say you get to turn five, and by this point the opponent has some creatures on the board and maybe they even got their commander out, you may have hit all of your land drops + or - one, so what can we expect to hope for at this point? Imagine this scenario and the card you draw is Peek or Yoked Ox or Disruptive Pitmage? Those are just a couple of examples. Lets actually do some math, you draw seven on the first turn, then five cards after that because you are on the draw, so we are 12 cards into your deck + or - draw spells like Ponder and Preordain. Now how many of the cards in your deck are going to even make an impact on the board state on turn five? Nine cards are. That is 1/8th of your deck at this point in the game, which is a 12% chance of drawing something impactful.
The Nine Cards:Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Kruphix, God of Horizons, Silent Arbiter, Jace, Unraveler of Secrets, Tamiyo, Field Researcher, Supreme Verdict, Wrath of God, Arcane Laboratory, and Aura of Silence
How many cards in your deck do you actually want to see past turn one or turn two? In fact, half of the cards in the two drop slot, I wouldn't even want to draw throughout the rest of the game, they are just trash.
This is where we can divulge into the synergies of your deck. What is the goal of the deck? Do the cards in the deck reflect the goal we have in mind?
What is the goal of this deck? The name of the deck has "Control" in it, so I guess it is a control deck? Well we have the shell of a Pillowfort deck in the Enchantment slots, and then we have a bunch of high defense creatures and lame counter creatures, then we got a stack of very situational counterspells. So what are we planning on doing? We have a problem here, we can choose to hold our mana open, or we can choose to lay down our pillowfort enchantments. We can't do both though unless we spread it over the course of many turns. The problem is that you are going to end up holding mana for a counterspell and then wishing you had played the enchantments instead. If we are going to control I think we should pick a road and then stick with it, because half committing only makes this deck weaker.
If you go the pillowfort route, you really need to run Leyline of Sanctity, more Howling Mine effects, and probably more Fog effects. If you go the control route, you are going to need to run Mother of Runes and more Wrath of God and Sunscour effects.
If you pick the direction of your deck and choose a different commander I can help better suggest cards, but I am going to wait for your answer on that one.
P.S. look up any landbase for any Commander deck, you almost never run all basic lands.

The card will re-enter as a new object and will remain under your control indefinitely. The Massacre Wurm Rubinia Soulsinger took control of no longer exists, so you can untap her with no repercussions.

If I have a Rubinia Soulsinger out and tap her to gain control of a creature say Massacre Wurm. Then I cast Restoration Angel targeting the massacre wurm in my opponents end step. A. it says you control and I control it.. It then says put onto the battlefield under your control. Would it or because it left the field go under my opponents control.B. Could I untap Rubinia and still have control of massacre wurm even though she is untapped.. I had this exact scenario lastnight and thought it better to clean it up.. Thanks in advance

So, on to my next, semi-casual EDH deck. I've had it on the back burner for quite some time now, and I've decided to try my hand at creating a clone deck with a subtheme of stealing or reanimating.
The reason for this deck's creation is I occasionally get complaints from people not liking my decks or it's too mean. This deck will only be as good as my opponent's, so if they complain, they end up inadvertently bashing their own deck building skills. (Lol).
Anyway! I have a couple ideas in mind, and I'd like to know what you all think!
Lazav, Dimir Mastermind (Non mill)
I used to have a mill Lazav deck. But that wasn't very fun in the long term. 2 Colors, less ability for reactions, but more consistent. Only has to see the creature enter the graveyard from anywhere. Copies, doesn't steal. 4 Mana. Hexproof.
I have most of the land base for BUG, as I used to run Damia. Adds green for ramp and Progenitor Mimic and Altered Ego. Adds reanimator cards like Meren of Clan Nel Toth. Provides reaction cards for artifacts and enchantments. But is more expensive to cast, and requires 2 creatures in graveyards to interact with.
Merieke Ri Berit & Rubinia Soulsinger
I haven't played with these before, so I don't know how I would like them. They have decent abilities, however each one either lacks a good color for thieving/copying, or has a color that is not suited for the theme.
Sakashima the Impostor
I have probably 3 mono-U decks, so a fourth isn't too appealing to me. On top of that, it loses both black and green, making me resort to more preemptive responses to threats, making me run more counterspells. Which at that point ends up being my Baral, Chief of Compliance deck. But if someone can make a good argument for this one, i'll take it into consideration.
Marchesa, the Black Rose
Trading Green for Red, or just adding Red, has come across my mind before. It allows for Dack's Duplicant, and more steal effects. However, I feel like this deck would turn into a combo deck at some point with Marchesa, which I'm not intending to do here.
Anyway! I'd love to hear your thoughts! As a side tangent, but still relevant, if there are commanders in some combinations of these colors, while not sticking to the theme of copy/steal, that you think would be good to use, let me know!

HottyAvacyn69, I did build a bant superfriends deck shortly after Tamiyo was released, but that was because my least favorite thing about my old Superfriends deck was running 5 colors, especially black and red, which were fairly unhelpful.
Anyways, my point here is that while I used Tamiyo as the commander, my backup was to use Rubinia Soulsinger as the commander of bant superfriends, so if your boyfriend wants to do superfriends, I'd say that having a commander than can steal attackers/blockers at instant speed is the best support commander for bant Superfriends we have, in my humble opinion.

...."field control with few a combo and big creatures," ... still could go several ways....
Personally I don't like making too many decks that already do things other decks I have do...aka step out of your wheelhouse a little with each new deck you make...or at least try to.
That being said;
Derevi, Empyrial Tactician is pretty good for control...especially when backed with a few good evasive/hexproof creatures like you might find in a boggles deck...
Roon of the Hidden Realm and Phelddagrif can both be good for pillow fort / group hug though Roon also leans toward etb trigger / blink decks as well as blinking your oppenent's trash during declare attackers with lots of etb tapped effects ...
Rubinia Soulsinger is pretty cool for control / thievery / sac & combo out kind of stuffs...
Rafiq of the Many is good for limited control, usually it's a voltron strategy...either with (expensive) equipment (like swords) or enchantress (like boggles)
that's my thoughts anyway...gl & hf
