What kind of budget are you working with?

Azusa, Lost but Seeking is awesome for extra landfall triggers in a turn. Cabaretti Courtyard is also a good search land for doubling up on landfall triggers. Since you have a fair few lands with sacrifice abilities, World Shaper might be worth some consideration, too.

A few more good cards for this in no particular order: Embodiment of Fury, Awakening of Vitu-Ghazi, Druid Class, Field of the Dead ($$), Nissa, Who Shakes the World / Nissa, Vital Force, Omnath, Locus of Rage.

As far as things you can cut to make room: Canopy Baloth is kind of meh since it doesn't have any kind of evasion. Could swap this out for Embodiment of Fury. Might of Murasa could come out for the Awakening, since it's a similar costed effect (surprise giant blocker for only 1 effective mana more). Light Up the Stage feels out of place, could be cut for Druid Class for good gains.

Reviving Dose could also be cut for one of the Nissas - essentially, you're paying 3 mana for 3 life, where you could instead pay 5 mana for an epic planeswalker that makes you more land creatures. I'm also not a particular fan of Weather the Storm, although IMO it's at least situationally better than reviving dose. You could even cut both of those life gain spells and add both Nissas.

Definitely Reviving Dose or one of your non-Samurai creatures. Things like reviving dose should usually only be in decks that want to cycle cards, here it is just filler, which is always good to cut as much as possible.

Hey, there's a mono white archetype in Modern called Soul Sisters. What you have here is a twist on that strategy.

The Sisters are Martyr of Sands,Soul's Attendant and Soul Warden. These are the repeatable life gaining sources to give you a consistent source of life gain and a consistent play turn one. Martyr is a fast way to gain life to activate Serra Ascendant or pump Ajani's Pridemate. Ascendant is by far your best threat to win a game and reason to want to gain life; Martyr can get you to 30+ life fast.

Squadron Hawk is a good two drop with this strategy giving you four potential creatures to gain life with and it has flying. Hawk is like draw putting up to three cards into your hand which is good with Martyr to have a better opportunity to gain life with her since you will have more white cards in your hand. I also like the interaction of Martyr and Lone Rider  Flip as a way to gain three or more life for one mana.

Flying is the best evasion you can give the rest of your attacking creatures with Odric, Lunarch Marshal and he does seem good with Ajani's Pridemate, but I think 4x Odric is too much. Odric as a four drop isn't good by himself, he requires other creatures to be good to use his combat trigger. You only want to cast Odric if you have an established battlefield of creatures to get his combat trigger and having a flier helps too.

Hawk seems better here than Aerial Responder since Hawk fills your hand with creatures and it also has flying. Tokens are good with the Sisters; Spectral Procession is three flying Spirits for three mana. Procession with a Warden or Attendant on the battlefield can pump Pridemate at least three times. For three mana Procession seems more impactful than Ritual of Rejuvenation. 4x Ritual, 4x Revitalize and 2x Reviving Dose seems too many cards for this effect and Revitalize is better than the others. Gaining life and drawing is important, but creatures are more important.

Cards to consider adding:

Cards to consider cutting:

  • 4x Ritual of Rejuvenation
  • 2x Reviving Dose
  • 4x Aerial Responder
  • 3x Auriok Champion
  • 1x Odric, Lunarch Marshal
  • 1x Lone Rider

Attendant being a one drop I think is better than the color protections of Champion who is a two drop and both have the same repeatable life gain ability. Champion could be a sideboard card, but not sure you even need him. Champion and gaining life is great hate against mono red and burn, but the strategy here is gaining life even without Champion. Good luck with your deck.

I would take out the Reviving Dose for a Resplendent Angel. It seems like you could easily hit the 5 life cap by attacking with serra, it that rides as one and a healers hawk, even chaining together revitalize and casting a creature with a soul warden out. Seems very doable imo

legendofa, I did have that in and replaced it with Reviving Dose so I'll test out a little of both of them and see if it helps. Thanks!

I suggest dropping at least a couple of the Reviving Dose s for Rest for the Weary . The other instants offer card draw, and your main resource here is your life total, which you want to raise fast to get the full benefits of your win conditions.

Regardless, I love the deck. +1 from me. I have a similar build myself and I think you might could consider Reviving Dose, Blessed Wine, Ritual of Rejuvenation and Reaping the Rewards. The first three act as Instant speed versions of Survival Cache while the latter is a decent finisher if you have your commander and lands to burn.

No problem Suns_Champion. Happy to help. Knowledge is power and all that. If it helps, Righteous Confluence, like Fiery Confluence has separate triggers on the same spell that would help Firesong and Sunspeaker get extra damage in. And cards like Reviving Dose are Sunforgable and good for the Cantrip life gain and extra damage.
