Relic Barrier Discussion

Except...you could cut the probes. Probe is played in 60 card decks because it turns them into 56 card decks. You could cut some of the win conditions and then expect to draw them by drawing the game out. You could cut meh cards like Aether and Relic Barrier as 1 is 5 mana for a 2/2 unblockable and the other doesn't actually hit that much in legacy.

Now I am curious to see what your deck looks like. I really like the idea of adding Relic Barrier to tap what ever is needed. Trophy Mage is great, I started with it in the deck but pulled it for the bird theme but I think I will add it back in.
Thank you for the suggestions, let me know if you add anything else

I made a few changes due to the fact my meta is creature heavy and the deck is a little shaky against creature strategies. But its very effective and fun. Have you thought about Relic Barrier to make Winter Orb and Static Orb one sided? I put in a Trophy Mage along with Fabricate and Enlightened Tutor to search up the orbs and the Relic Barrier and it has been very consistent for me so far.

Nice deck- I enjoy seeing other people playing Commander Unchained. I am fortunate that my playgroup--after some persuasion-- came around to playing with fun cards as well.
A few notes after reviewing the list- Brainstorm, Sensei's Divining Top, Halimar Depths are all great cards, but to truly maximize their strength you need to run more ways to consistently shuffle. It looks like you run Windswept Heath, so you're on the right track, but a Polluted Delta, Arid Mesa, Scalding Tarn, etc would go a long way towards making those spells more reliable. I'm actually not even certain that they're correct in this list: only Terminus and Long-Term Plans seems to have much synergy. A Preordain, Ponder, or even Crystal Ball may just be a better effect. If you do decide to up the shufflers, Jace, the Mind Sculptor probably becomes better than Jace Beleren as well.
Hokori, Dust Drinker and Rising Waters could be upgraded with Static Orb and Relic Barrier. The Orb is weaker in general, but combos with Barrier and Blinkmoth Well to allow you to fully untap while your opponents can't. Similarly, Winter Orb was re-un-re-errated (the only word to describe its messy history) to where if it's tapped, it turns off. This means that it too will work with ways of tapping it to be the only person who gets to have fun.
Anyhow, these are just some ideas after taking a look around. I've been piloting an Arbiter deck for a few years now, and occasionally enjoy checking in on what other people are doing wit him. God bless, and best of luck in your conquests.-McDeity

Well, having the Lens bounced sucks but as I noticed playing here, people usually let me cast my mana rocks. Little do they know it's what really fuels this deck. They might see an opportunity to do so or to destroy it later at a point which would be really mana-dependent. I need to playtest it more and finally use it in a real match on FNM. I just put it in (was gathering snow lands).
Between SoWaP and Godsend, i'd choose the Sword. In fact, I'm really seriously considering to put it in. The lifegain/life-loss, however small, really would help me get thing done. Last FNM I had a draw just because I couldn't finish my opponent down from his ONE life before 5th turn of termination.
The masterpiece art for the SoFaI is a middle finger for me. I really dislike it. Scorpion's stinger indeed! Fiery-robot-space-scorpion! The others are nice. I like the MMA art the most and I buy only matching arts. I like how each of them glows with corresponding colours.
Yeah, the Howling Mine idea wasn't that great. I'm planning on making it better though. Blinkmoth Well and Relic Barrier are some options to rescue the Mine. I need some more time to think and explore.
Grafted Exoskeleton seems overpriced to me. And the sacrifice effect... I think I'll stay with the land. For now at least.
I was going to remove some colorless lands and put more snowlands but then the package arrived and as it turned out -I ordered two lands less than I wanted to. So now have room for two more colorless lands. :) I'm considering Inkmoth Nexus and Blinkmoth Well to test them both out. Inkmoth Nexus + Eldrazi Conscription looks good too.
Have you considered White Mana Battery? Since, I believe, you leave out 3 mana untapped anyway, it looks like a nice way to ramp for something beefy.
Also, what do you think of Quest for the Holy Relic? Looks like a nice extra tutor. You pay for it on 1st turn (I rarely do anything on turn 1) and just carry on with the game when suddenly bam, you have a free equip attached. Consider Argentum Armor. I already bought a copy, now it needs to be tested. And I need to find a place in the deck...

Note that a good chunk of these cards depend on your opponent so I mention these so you just have an idea about them, you may find them useful or not, sideboard etc.

I feel like maybe Icy Manipulator and more-so Relic Barrier could be replaced with something like Tangle Wire or Orb of Dreams which combos with Smoke, Winter Orb and Static Orb. With cards like Goblin Welder, Scrap Mastery and other forms of artifact reanimation, one can keep the fade counters on Tangle Wire plenty while having the ability to kill indestructible artifacts like Darksteel Plate, Darksteel Forge or a board under the influence of a Guardian Beast / Avacyn, Angel of Hope. I hope these suggestions have been helpful Draw_Wurm
