Quarry Beetle

Creature — Insect

When Quarry Beetle enters the battlefield, you may return target land card from your graveyard to the battlefield.

I mean you could just not use it if an opp has a strip mine or similar out haha. And since you can use both abilities in the same turn thanks to Beledros, there's very little risk of losing your creatures permanently. They'd need a stifle and a strip mine for that.

It has infinite combo potential too. Endless Sands + Deserted Temple/Stone-Seeder Hierophant + Titania, Protector of Argoth/Quarry Beetle/Molderhulk + Beledros alongside enough lands is infinite mana. Infinite creatures too if Titania is there. Or draw your deck with Gitrog.

Your list seems quite combat oriented (which is super cool!) and it looks really solid. The only card that seems off to me is Dukhara Scavenger because it can neuter your draw, but I understand the recursion idea. Phyrexian Delver is a good way to get the same recursive feel except it isn't stunting your draws and puts the creature right back into play. Also, shout out for using Blood Pet because I love that card. Quarry Beetle seems super cool, and I might try it myself. +1

What do you think of Terrain Generator? You can use it early to get to Omnath a turn or maybe two quicker, and later to drop another trigger for him... And it's a good chunk cheaper than alternatives like Exploration or Azusa, Lost but Seeking. You could probably add that and Courser of Kruphix for about $5. Courser is good for some life gain too.

I'd maybe look at having the Generator in for Khalni Heart Expedition since you have to sac it and Courser in for Quarry Beetle which I don't feel does enough work.

I also use Strionic Resonator in my Omnath deck and that's often handy with all sorts of triggers.

Fertilid is another one which could add something including being an elemental.

Hi hoardofnotions: thank you for your feedback

Quarry Beetle and Stoic Builder are nice fits indeed: I didn't know what to cut but you provided some excellent suggestions, so thanks for that. Though I must say that you should not underestimate the impact of Isolation Cell. In such a deck as this one it is truly devastating: it slows and punishes your opponent at the same time.

Ramunap Excavator: excellent call, I haven't got him yet...definitely a must

Skullclamp I am less enthusiastic about: the extra cards are welcome, but he will destroy my small critters, while they are necessary for both blocking and attacking.

I hadn't added Volcanic Offering because it targets while I aim to destroy it all: but the card does have the advantage of having a lot of effects rolled into one. I think I need to reconsider.

Magnivore: yes, it can grow big. It is a shame really that it does not have trample (though it does have haste). I need to test him.

I will check out your deck.

Quarry Beetle, Stoic Builder, could be better than cartographer or harvest wurm

Skullclamp seems really good with your one toughness creatures, especially the blizzard-herder

Magnivore lots of sorcery' s in the graveyard to make huge. Might be better than the werewolf

Ramunap Excavator seems perfect

Volcanic Offering has been good for me

Isolation cell, ruby medallion, harvest wurm, thresher beast could be possible cuts

Yavimaya elder from your maybe board looks great.

I have a similar, if less focused, deck called Radha, Butcher of Keld. If you have the time could you check it out?
