Primalcrux Discussion

I like it! Just a few suggestions to up your punch factor. I would run Primalcrux over Gigantosaurus. Instead if a vanilla 10/10, you get a creature that scales with your devotion to green, I ran him for a long time and he's a beast. I would also find a spot for Pathbreaker Ibex, he can replace Kamahl, Fist of Krosa if he happens to get hated out of the game, or can double whatever you pump into kamahl if they're both out.

I don't know what your playgroup is like, but you can possibly find a substitute for Tajuru Preserver. I run it in my deck because every game I play in has a deck running Grave Pact or something similar.

The deck is looking great, I hope it does well for you.

how do you feel about running Primalcrux

After giving it some thought, I agree that Primalcrux should be replaced by Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar

Two fun cards might be Primalcrux, but that’d likely be too slow. A slightly better option could be Khalni Hydra as you’re running a high green devotion.

Toxicat thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment and the deck you built looks awesome! Primalcrux is a really fun card that I had looked into previously and it was very hard to keep it out of the deck along with some other big guys like Khalni Hydra but you seem to have made a cozy spot for him in your deck :) I'm just in too deep at this point with the Coco's to add any other big creatures but may change up the deck at some point with Primalcrux,Khalni Hydra,Aspect of Hydra once I make some money to put back into magic haha. I also had more mana dorks in the past but decided to take them out because I was drawing them way too much on my later turns and they just weren't doing anything for me since my cmc is so low but they may certainly work out better in your deck. I personally love the idea of splashing red into this deck for cards like Blood Moon because that seems to be a big one in modern that has the potential to just ruin some decks also Gruul Ponza looks like a super neat deck that i will have to look further into! I am definitely going to hop back on here when I get some free time and add these cards to the maybe and sideboard.. in my mind this deck is going to be an ongoing project for as long as I play magic because there is just so much to explore and that's exactly why I love it so much! I'm so happy I was able to give you some inspiration here as well as gain some from you and your husband... Thanks again! :D

So, since Devotion plays a role in the deck, I've decided to add Primalcrux as a massive beater. Thoughts? I'm also considering adding Boseiju, Who Shelters All

I like this idea and decided to brew with your deck as basic. Some changes I made:

First 4x Arbor Elf to get everything out of Utopia Sprawl and even 2x Birds of Paradise. I also added 2x Hashep Oasis.

All that because I wanted to add Primalcrux so badly.

I put Collected Company out since mathematical a deck should contain minimum 24 creatures with cmc 3 or less for effective coco ... and then I lose the mono-green for gruul with Blood Moon and/or Bloodbraid Elf for a coco-similar effect. (Hell ya, blood moon turn 2 kills even most T1 decks. It also could be an option for your sideboard, if you want to stay mono-green main.)

I tried some other suggestions from the comments. I did not run this, yet and sure will change it a bit more in the futur. But thank you very much for inspiration!

My whole deck:

My husband suggested to also get inspired by gruul ponza.

Strangleroot guest Burning tree embassy (might have spelled it wrong) You want to get janky and modern Primalcrux Kitchen finx Just a few things off the top of my head for devotion oriented heavy hitters

Also like I said hitting 6 mana for garruk called of beasts shouldn't be hard becuase well your playing ramp/devotion

Also garruk into craterhoof. Ect

A one of eternal witness always helped me out...
