Porcuparrot

Creature — Bird Beast

Mutate [[symbol:3] (If you cast this spell for its mutate cost, put it ontop or underneath target non-Human creature you own. They mutate into the creature that is on top and that creature has all the abilities of every card that is underneath it.)

: This creature deals X damage to target creature, player or planeswalker, where X is the number of times this creature has mutated.

Nice (+1), have you considered Hooded Blightfang or Porcuparrot? The former is pretty good for shooting down planeswalkers, while the latter is pretty good for creatures. Hope this helps.

I think most of the creatures here are well within reasonable casting cost for the amount of ramp you have in the deck. Yidaro is the exception, but Yidaro's alternative casting cost is easy enough to achieve. That being said, have you considered Porcuparrot or possibly hexproof enablers like Slippery Bogle or Gladecover Scout? Porcuparrot is really good with deathtouch as it can kill any creature it can target. Hexproof makes it safer to mutate a lot on a single creature. Hope this helps.

You will get a Porcuparrot creature on the battlefield. Mutating creature spells can only target non-human creatures with the same owner as the player casting the spell. If the target of a mutating creature spell becomes illegal, it will continue resolving as a creature spell instead of mutating onto the original target.

Say I control a nonhuman. I cast Porcuparrot for it's mutate cost targeting it. My opponent casts Blades of Velis Vel in response.

What happens to the Porcuparrot spell?

lil_cheez on Question about "Number of times …

Hiya folks!

I've been building a mutate commander deck and while looking for possible corner-cases, I've been stumbled with the following:

If a mutated creature "loses all abilities" (for example is enchanted with Lignify or Kenrith's Transformation), and I try to mutate on it something that counts the number of times the creature mutated (like Porcuparrot), does the counting happens normally? The creature still knows how many times it mutated?

Additionally: If that same creature suffer future mutations, it will look like the "new" creature or it will still be suffering the effects of the aura?

Thanks in advance!

Delphen7 on How does a typeless permanent …

Sorry in advance, this is a tricky question and I'm unable phrase it in an unambiguous manner.

Say you mutate a creature (Such as Porcuparrot) on top of a Theros God (Such as Heliod, Sun-Crowned). Then at some point during the game, the devotion is no longer met. It now becomes a typeless permanent.

So how does this permanent interact / no longer interact with the field?

Great build! I've got the Prosper deck, and this gave me some ideas for upgrades.

Have you considered adding Porcuparrot? It turns Prosper into an optimal removal machine.
