Phalanx Formation

Instant

Strive - Phalanx Formation costs 1W more to cast for each target beyond the first.

Any number of target creatures each gain double strike until end of turn. (They deal both first-strike and regular combat damage.)

Just to make sure we're on the same page: yes, Hinata, Dawn-Crowned works great with Strive spells as long as they have a generic component in the cost. It can't reduce the cost of Kiora's Dismissal or Blinding Flare, but will work fine with something like Hour of Need, Phalanx Formation, etc.

Hi pohotu3,

It sounds like your looking for ramp; Desperate Ritual, Pyretic Ritual, Infernal Plunge and Simian Spirit Guide could all help you play faster, though you wouldn't use them all in a single deck. Soldier of the Pantheon, Monastery Swiftspear and Bomat Courier are probably better options than Furnace Scamp, Gibbering Fiend and Priest of Iroas. You also might want to consider Boros Charm and Dawn Charm.

Even with additional ramp Rage Reflection and True Conviction are expensive, I might be tempted to use Phalanx Formation, Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion Assault Strobe or Double Cleave. Then again Boros Charm is possibly the best option, since it has other modes.

I hope this is of help, have fun brewing your deck

This actually has some pretty cool ideas for a first deck.

I think you might benefit from focusing more on the noncreature spell plan than on the lifegain plan. You can certainly still have both, but having a card like Soulmender just to trigger your two copies of Sunbond seems very committal when you aren't getting other synergy out of it. If you are more interested in the lifegain plan, just let me know and I can certainly provide other suggestions.

With that in mind, some of the creatures could be swapped out for others with heroic or similar abilities. Sungrace Pegasus and Lightwalker could be replaced by Akroan Skyguard or Wingsteed Rider. Graceblade Artisan could be Tethmos High Priest or Fabled Hero. Soulmender could be Myth Realized or Favored Hoplite. Student of Ojutai could be Dawnbringer Charioteers. Nyx-Fleece Ram could be Hero of Iroas, Vanguard of Brimaz, or Monastery Mentor.

If you want to stick with the enchantment theme, you might replace the non-enchantment spells with something like Eidolon of Countless Battles, Ethereal Armor , or Daybreak Coronet. Otherwise, heroic works well with spells that have multiple targets. Some examples are Ajani's Presence, Launch the Fleet, Phalanx Formation, Blessed Alliance, Dauntless Onslaught, Shoulder to Shoulder, Tandem Tactics, Redeem, and Cauldron Haze.

Well, there's some ideas to mull over at least. Good luck with your deck man. (Oh, and by the way, card linking is done using double brackets, not double parentheses.)

Uncaged Fury, Assault Strobe, Boros Charm, Double Cleave, Phalanx Formation, Temur Battle Rage in the place of the metalcraft and creatures that get buffed when equipped. imo

Auriok Edgewright and Phalanx Formation for some extra turns. I'd take out fiend hunter because any boardwipe would screw you. I'd also take out dissipation field. Whereas it does remove a threat, it does so after the damage is done, which isn't worth it imo. Also, improve your mana base. Cards like Azorius Guildgate are cheap options for mana fixing

Phalanx Formation isn't really helping this deck.

I'll take out all Phalanx, 2 Reclaim, for 3 more creatures and two Titanic Growth.

Also considering only 22 land. Which would see Fruit of the First Tree as the replacement.

Since you have a lot of enchantments (including a lot of auras), maybe Dowsing Shaman could be of use? If you want a lot of counters on your creatures, Dragon Blood, Gleam of Authority or Echoes of the Kin Tree, might be of use.

For some card draw, you can use Momentous Fall, Harmonize or Fruit of the First Tree. Maybe a Dreamstone Hedron or Hedron Archive for both ramp and draw.

You could switch one of your instants (like Giant Growth or Titanic Growth) for Phalanx Formation, which might surprise your opponent when used on your commander (and deal double the damage). Very effective if he also has Trample.

I will say that I am not the most experienced Commander player, so don't follow my suggestions blindly. I'm just mentioning some cards that might be of use for you.
