Ovinomancer

Creature — Human Wizard

When Ovinomancer enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless you return three basic lands you control to their owner's hand.

, Return Ovinomancer to its owner's hand: Destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated. That creature's controller creates a 0/1 green Sheep creature token.

ChaosJester on Ovinomancer Indestructible interaction

Hey guys,

Just want to pimp my Ovinomancer deck and have a specific combo question. Let's assume Aluren and Concordant Crossroads are on the battlefield. The haste should negate the drawback of Ovinomancer as far as I know because you can activate Ovinomancers second ability in response. But can I target my own creature with indestructible over and over again to create infinite sheep tokens?

Thanks for your help and happy new year!

DemonDragonJ Yeah, but the color pie changes. If more cards show the effects that Pongify, Ovinomancer, Rapid Hybridization, and Polymorph have, the color pie allows it.

Personally, I do understand these 4 effects aren't common, like in white or black, but for literally destroying creatures, if that's all you want, as long as a severe drawback is given, generally in the form of a creature being given back, blue can do it, if only occasionally.

If they printed more, it would be fine, right? Because it would show a precedent. If that's how it works, luckily there is precedent in the color already.

Cool list, I’ve brewed up a Chulane deck but I’ve gone down a different road, focussing more on land control.

Ovinomancer is a great card for the deck though as it refills your hands with lands you can then just put straight back into play with other creatures.

Feel free to take a look at my list Chulane, Controller of the realms

Boza on Card interaction Ovinomancer and Mirrorweave

Nothing too complicated here. The most likely outcome is that Players A and B will return all their creatures to hand.

Activating Ovinomancer requires you to tap it and put it back in your hand as part of the cost. Additionally, you have to select a target and if something targeted by the leaves the battlefield, the ability will fizzle and do nothing.

I assume the exchange of that went like that:

Player A: I activate Ovinomancer 1 targeting your ovinomancer 1!
Player B: In response, I activate my ovinomancer 1 to destroy your ovinomancer 2!

and so on.

This will continue until one of the two players has 1 ovinomancer left, at which point they can target it with its own ability to return it to their hand.

ChaosJester on Card interaction Ovinomancer and Mirrorweave

Hello,

I have Ovinomancer on the battlefield and I cast Mirrorweave . I play against two opponent's. Each of them have four creatures. As a result, eight creatures are changed to Ovinomancer. Then, these two opponent's decide to use Ovinomancer's ability to destroy the creatures of each other. How exactly does this interaction work?

Thank you!
