Null Chamber Discussion

The goal of these types of cards is that at least for effects like Nevermore, Null Chamber, Gideon's Intervention, Pithing Needle, Darksteel Mutation, Imprisoned in the Moon, Cursed Totem, Sorcerous Spyglass, Song of the Dryads, etc. is that they are 'commander removal', a way of getting around the command-zoning techniques that are abused by commanders that get removed often, yet can just be cast for more.
Mairsil can also use cards like Empress Galina or other steal effects as you can't command zone those either. Empress will also have an activated ability Mairsil can get, allowing you to make a sort of lock on all commanders.

Suppression Field, Prison Term, and other type effects, possible commander hate in the form of Nevermore, Darksteel Mutation, Gideon's Intervention, Null Chamber, etc could work in Marchesa. Even Cursed Totem, but for Mairsil, you will have to look elsewhere.
Mairsil is harder, I guess Imprisoned in the Moon?

I'm getting surprisingly good results with Null Chamber. I like how it's less color intensive than Nevermore with twice the effect. If no one wants to cooperate, it's unlikely for this to directly backfire as Derevi is "immune" to the effect, and you have so much versatility it can be difficult to name a specific spell that you haven't cast yet while also being relevant.

My suggestions would be: Get Bruna, the Fading Light. If you want to run enchantments run Edge of the Divinity + Nip Gwyllion for swing also Hyena Umbra and Ethereal Armor. If you run lifelink always use Cradle of Vitality which can end up with you having 500 hp (Also sideboard something against infect). For removal Swords to Plowshares, for control Deathbringer Liege or Null Chamber, Anguished Unmaking might be better than Mortify

Null Chamber can easily be your 2x Nevermore by itself if you ally yourself with a player.

I run Pithing Needle in decks that aim to be disruptive.
For example, my Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero deck mostly plans to stop people from executing their game plan. It's a mono-white creature-based prison/control deck where most of my cards aim to deny my opponent options while I draw to my combo pieces (the deck can gain infinite life with decent consistency) or accumulate enough creatures for a Mirror Entity kill. The deck runs Pithing Needle, as well as Phyrexian Revoker, Faith's Fetters, Suppression Bonds and even Voidstone Gargoyle as part of a package designed to aggressively try and shut down my opponent's commander. Other pieces of that package include "can't cast" effects like Nevermore and Null Chamber, and "no-ETB-triggers" cards such as Torpor Orb and Hushwing Gryff. Linvala, Keeper of Silence would also be a consideration if she wasn't a billion dollars; Rule of Law, Eidolon of Rhetoric and Spirit of the Labyrinth are waiting on the sidelines, waiting for somebody to give me a reason to play them.
Basically if a card says "Players/Your opponents can't do such and such" (and it's not Containment Priest) I am interested in it. Pithing Needle furthers the game plan of the deck as a whole, so it's in.
If I am running a deck with a proactive game plan I still usually have a small disruption package, but the amount of slots I am willing to devote to a card that does not further the game plan are limited, and usually colors just have better, broader options than Pithing Needle.
