I have wanted beasts to be better for years. I love that there are niche non-beast cards that help them out like Wirewood Savage , Contested Cliffs , Advocate of the Beast and AEther Charge .

If I had to pick a favorite beast over all I would probably go with Sabertooth Nishoba . It isn't flashy by today's standards but it was one of the first cards I had the pleasure of losing to when starting out, then winning with after finding a few of my own. Played it along side Noble Panther . Back in my day a 3/3 for 3cmc that you had to pay to give first strike was more than worth the rare slot.

@ Tots - I can definitely understand some of the options you mentioned.

Leonin Skyhunter - meant to be a source of fast damage with Arahbo's free pump effect. Cats don't typically fly either, so while not ideal, it can serve as a blocker in a pinch. You are absolutely right in that it's returns diminish as time goes on.

Skyhunter Skirmisher - same deal as above, Double strike being an added bonus. A better option than Skyhunter as the double strike will always be relevant, but also fades as time goes on.

Enlightened Ascetic - meant to be removal on a stick that doubles as a body, but when compared to other options, I can see this getting the boot.

Noble Panther - Aside from the art being really sweet, it is one of the only multi color cats in the deck. I'd like to keep it, but I'm aware of it's flaws and it's among the cards that are likely to be cut.

Leonin Relic-Warder - Unlike Enlightened Ascetic, it can hit artifacts or enchantments. Even if the removal is temporary, it also serves as bait for removal if they want their stuff back. I don't see this one being cut when all is said and done.

Lost Leonin - I completely understand, and I actually kind of hate myself (slightly) for it's inclusion. It's a way to burst poison someone out of the game with Arahbo's free pump and his 3 mana second ability. It's an anti lifegain card that benefits from all other bonuses for the tribe... I'd like to keep it, but I see it as a potential cut and not a definite one.

Phantom Nishoba - A lifelink, trample 7/7 for 7 that effectively has 7 lives is appealing, especially with Arahbo on board. It's a late game threat that, if worst comes to worse, it's a blocker that gains me life and prevents a bunch of commander damage. The deck list is already light on higher cmc cards, would like to keep a few.

Sabertooth Nishoba - Kind of along the same line as Phantom Nishoba, it's a beefy tribal card that has pro-2 colors. It'll work great with Arahbo and serves as a solid blocker or way to get in. The deck list is already light on higher cmc cards, would like to keep a few.

I'd cut Lost Leonin, Leonin Skyhunter, Skyhunter Skirmisher, Enlightened Ascetic, Noble Panther, Phantom Nishoba, Sabertooth Nishoba, and Leonin Relic-Warder. Most of these are good for early game but all fall off incredibly hard incredibly fast. What's a turn 5 Leonin Skyhunter going to do but slow you down. That will put you at 100.

Noble Panther so far seems great when paired with arahbo. A 6/6 first strike on turn 3 or 4 ain't too shabby.

Nice deck!

Have you thought about Taj-Nar Swordsmith to fetch your artifacts? Noble Panther might also be worth considering.
