Nightshade Assassin Discussion

Aww hell yeah! I actually had a Kiku tiny leaders deck list that I never got around to putting together but I LOVE assassins tribal. Just off the top of my head, Thrill-Kill Assassin, Garza's Assassin and Nightshade Assassin are the most notable omissions.

Nekrataal probably gets the edge over Nightshade, but Nightshade could potentially get rid of indestructible creatures and can target black. Just something to consider.

I'm a huge fan of Garza's Assassin because sometimes you need to assassinate two targets asap.

Otherwise, your list looks really tight and these are mere suggestions/ideas. +1

Maybe consider Silumgar Assassin, Ruthless Ripper, or Guul Draz Assassin...?

Also, in terms of madness, Nightshade Assassin would work.

If you target Agent of the Fates with Nightshade Assassin's -X/-X ability will it trigger Heroic?

The land looks ok- its all about how stable it feels- How about moving the mainboard bile blight and duress to sb for some Scarblade Elite/Garza's Assassin/Orzhov Euthanist or Big Game Hunter/Nightshade Assassin/Dark Withering with Sinister Concoction/Olivia's Dragoon/Zombie Infestation/Pack Rat/Undertaker for value removal.Just ideas, it would be a very different looking deck.

After playtesting with it a bit, I must say I like Dark Salvation a bit more than I originally did, however I think maindecking 4 is a bit much. I'm thinking you could cut them down to 2 and toss in 2 Collective Brutality. It gives you a bit more versatility, some value in the event you get flooded, and the discard option is really helpful any time you find yourself playing against red (Anger of the Gods is devastating). I'm not sold on 4 maindeck Abrupt Decays either, since 8 removal cards seems like a lot when you can drop Death Barons off of CoCo and do awful things with it.

The madness idea may just be better left to sideboard options :/ Big Game Hunter, Nightshade Assassin, Voldaren Pariah  Flip, and From Under the Floorboards are the ones I've been toying with, but none of them really seem to fit the maindeck with the exception of maybe a singleton of the Pariah. I really like the responsiveness that madness gives you, and you can stay way more unpredictable with it, but there's only one madness zombie and its pretty lame tbh.

Let me know what you think!

I used to have Dark Withering, but then I realized that 3 Nightshade Assassins 4 Fiery Tempers 4 Lightning Axe is already a lot of removal ao I don't think I needed them. I like the idea of Razormane Masticore but CMC 5 makes it a dead card for too long. many modern decks want to win by turn 3 or 4. I like Hellspark Elemental just not as much as Gravecrawler, Deepcavern Imp is interesting, I'll have to think about that one.
