Menace (This creature can't be blocked except by two or more creatures.)

Have you considered running Dictate of Erebos? It can act as a stand in for Butcher of Malakir until it hits the field. Then they both trigger when a creature you control dies. Some other ones to consider are Morkrut Necropod, From Beyond, Bone Splinters, Altar's Reap, and Awakening Zone.

hey im in agreeance with everything landofmordor said. cut anything that doesn't fit your theme/goal. Desecration Demon, Fetid Imp, Morkrut Necropod, Pestilence Demon (this ones mostly do to its high cost), Shadow Alley Denizen, Thriving Turtle, Artificer's Epiphany (because you have no artifacts), Dramatic reversal (you don't really have much that this helps), Tidy Conclusion (because its way over costed and you have no artifacts), Weave Fate (because Divination is terrible at 3 mana and this is 4), Assassin's Strike (6 mana removal is bad), Crippling Blight (1 mana cards removal that probably won't kill anything is even worse), Dead Weight, Singing Bell Strike, Spectral Prison, Viper's Kiss (basically all of your enchantments are much worse than any instant or sorcery you should be playing).

that leaves

2x Aether Theorist (slow and doesn't help you control much)

1x Aethersquall Ancient (expensive finisher, you could do alot better but if you really like it this one can work i guess).

1x Air Servant (expensive flier that dies to every piece of removal that i can think of that costs 1 or 2 mana. and doesnt really close things out that fast. you can find much better threats).

2x Azure Mage (too mana intensive for any modern deck other than the absolute slowest control deck. generally speaking you can find better cards that give you card advantage)

1x Benthic Giant (this one is hexproof so it does act as a better finisher compared to Air Servant, but it has no evasion which means it will be chump blocked all day).

1x Benthic Infiltrator (you have no cards that interact with the exile effect and its a terrible card in terms of unblockable damage dealers. Tormented Soul would deal damage just as fast at 1 mana).

1x Harbinger of the Tides (actually a pretty good card. play more of these probably)

1x Salvage Drone (somewhat lackluster as a 1 drop)

1x Disperse (decent card)

2x Doom Blade (very solid card. may want to switch to Ultimate Price)

1x Force Away (probably should just be another disperse)

2x Glimmer of Genius (this is a pretty bad draw spell)

3x Select for Inspection (great card).

things you can add

Mana Leak, Duress, Inquisition of Kozilek, Dismember, Boomerang maybe a Tasigur, the Golden Fang or two.

Okay, so it seems to me like you've got a bunch of useful cards and you're not sure what to do with them. To start, I'd even reduce your lands down to 24 (start by taking out basic lands first). Typical deck size is 36 spells and 24 lands. Then, I'd consider making an advanced search on the deck builder that narrows the the decks by hub: Dimir and Casual and Control, probably. Look at some decks to figure out what kinds of things work well for other players.

The first spells I'd take out would be anything that didn't fit my goal of control. Benthic Giant, Desecration Demon, Morkrut Necropod, the Eldrazi. It also seems like you're gunning for a subtheme of energy counters from Kaladesh, but you only have a couple of ways to spend energy. You also have no artifacts, so I'd get rid of things like Tidy Conclusion that are only good if you have artifacts. If you want energy counters and control as the foci of your deck, then build around those things.

Best of luck! Feel free to check out any decks on my page -- I don't have any UB control but maybe it can get you thinking about spell/land ratios and things like that. Also let me know if I can clarify my post at all. Great start at deckbuilding. Cheers!

Oh, as well as in regards to Morkrut Necropod, I don't think I have the heart to cut the little guy. In every game he punches above his weight class, and no one seems to realize how scary a 7/7 with menace is until its bearing down on them.

I'd remove Evolving Wilds, or run Magmatic Insight to sack it.

I feel like there's a bit too many cards, and the weaker ones need to be weeded out. Not feelin' Morkrut Necropod. With that gone I see no need for Jaddi Offshoot or Groundskeeper... Well idk, I do like The Gitrog Monster so maybe keep it in there.

As for the new release, I'm really liking Abundant Maw for your deck. I'd have to think about it, but possibly Bedlam Reveler. Maybe look at Collective Defiance too, as well as Hanweir Battlements / Hanweir Garrison (they meld together) to make Hanweir, the Writhing Township

If you are to use The Gitrog Monster:
Braids, Cabal Minion is Gitrog's best friend
Death Cloud as a board wiper/enemy land destroyer
Morkrut Necropod enables land sacrifice
Smallpox maybe?

ARTIFACTS
Zuran Orb as a sac enabler
Sword of the Animist for the reusable ramp
Voyager Staff is a nice emergency resource. It might save a creature, remove an attacker/blocker or just act as a blink enabler.
Elixir of Immortality maybe?
Ring of Three Wishes or Tamiyo's Journal (tutors)

CREATURES
I believe Groundskeeper and Tilling Treefolk are essential to this deck.
Stoic Builder is also good (alternative to Cartographer
World Breaker is a big guy with an exile spell built in.
Sylvan Primordial should find a place in there too.
Greenwarden of Murasa so you can get some cards back. Same with Loaming Shaman
Fierce Empath as a tutor
Ambush Commander allows you to sac lands
Tornado Elemental to get rid of those pesky fliers
And I believe you are well acquainted with Archetype of Endurance.
Liege of the Tangle is an expensive card, but it has potential

INSTANTS
Constant Mists is Fog with buyback.
Betrayal of Flesh can bring something back, get rid of a threat or both if you are willing to sac 3 lands.
Sudden Reclamation works better with Gitrog, same with the fresh spoiled new, better version of it (Grapple with the Past[EDM]).

SORCERIES
Edge of Autumn for the cycling cost, mostly.
Restore is a ramp spell that uses the graveyard.
Traverse the Ulvenwald for tutoring.
Woodland Guidance might be nice to use if you have a high avg cmc.
Seasons Past gets you a lot of stuff back.
Kodama's Reach (alternative to Cultivate)

ENCHANTMENTS
Genju of the Cedars allows you to turn a forest into a creature so you can sac it (or use it to attack)
Life and Limb same as the one mentioned before. Could be dangerous, but makes Overwhelming Stampede deadlier.
Vernal Bloom does wonders for a mono-G deck.

LANDS
Myriad Landscape should really find a place in there
Blighted Woodland is kinda meh, but...
Encroaching Wastes / Tectonic Edge are budget alternatives to Wasteland

I built Combinations with The Gitrog Monster as a comment to help out someone else with a Gitrog deck. Your deck has many of the same apparent faults. High level creatures with high cmc - then you want to lose or discard lands for no significant gain, depleting your own mana base. I see many people splashing red to play Mina and Denn, Wildborn, Tormenting Voice and Atarka's Command - but that is a different deck. I like the delirium sub-theme and the addition of Morkrut Necropod, but you will need to ramp your mana and cycle through your deck a lot faster. I actually missed the effect of Wild-Field Scarecrow which makes it a good fit in this deck.
