Measure of Wickedness

Enchantment

At the end of your turn, sacrifice Measure of Wickedness and you lose 8 life.

Whenever another card is put into your graveyard from anywhere, target opponent gains control of Measure of Wickedness.

GrimlockVIII Thanks the deck has always been an idea but I finally got around to building something out of that idea. As for the planeswalker, if you play magic puzzle quest it is similar to the Angrath planeswalker and their abilities, except they prefer dishing out punishment for having creatures while this is for doing anything.

I have been looking at possible change ups, although the deck works well so long as we get our lands and a tiny bit of draw, mostly in replacing Sedgemoor Witch as they while their ward ability is thematic, the rest of their ability doesn't feel as much.

Ideas include Torment of Scarabs, Measure of Wickedness (would be tricky as you need to ensure a card went into your graveyard or you will suffer the 8 life loss), Nevinyrral's Disk as a Choice of Damnations backup, Hideous End as more spot removal, or Pooling Venom to reduce their mana options. The Pooling Venom seems the most fitting, but I am concerned about a lack of creatures.

Since you have Urborg and Entomb, how about Filth ?

Victimize is another card that works pretty well with Entomb, and can get you back an additional creature. Phyrexian Delver works the same way, except you pay a little life for two creatures instead of saccing.

Measure of Wickedness is a strange one, but fun. Can be used fairly effectively since you have so much instant speed sac and Entomb on top of it.

Death Cloud is just too hostile for a more casual setting.

Maybe consider some group hug cards like Standstill and Oath of Druids .

Games might be more fun if you add silly cards such as Measure of Wickedness and Necrotic Plague .

Yeap, Price of Progress is definitely worth it in EDH if you can build around it! Honestly your deck is dual-colour and there are no really colour-intensive mana costs in your deck, so I think you can actually cut most of your dual colour-producing lands. I would do the following: Cut Cinder Marsh, Foreboding Ruins, Lantern-Lit Graveyard, Rainbow Vale, Rakdos Carnarium. Replace them with basics Mountains and Swamps. This allows you to most effectively abuse Price of Progress. Oh yeah and before I forget you should run Anathemancer.

Havoc Festival is a hilarious card! In my experience people rarely try to target it as it hits everyone.

Lastly, I recommend that you find some way to squeeze in a few instant speed removal. I think Terminate, Hero's Downfall, Doom Blade, Murder, Chaos Warp are sufficient. You'll want some way to focus your resources against specific players, so that you won't be a "free" target. Instant speed removal will never die in your hand, you'll always have something you want to kill/threaten to be able to kill. I would consider cutting Nettling Curse, Custody Battle, Measure of Wickedness, Avarice Amulet, Harmless Offering.

(I would add a proper community card but that feature seems to be malfunctioning right now.)

Farly straightforward, this card would mostly be Zedruu the Greathearted (although a different character, not simply her gone evil or something) with a casting cost of and an activation cost of . In EDH, this could lead to some fun usage of cards like the following:

(I realize you can basically already do this with any Grixis commander + e.g. Bazaar Trader, but that's a bit less straightforward.)

I'm unsure what would be suitable for its upkeep ability. Just copying Zedruu's straight off isn't too inappropriate, as drawing is certainly associated with black and life gain isn't too far out either, but that's kinda boring. Replacing the life gain with something negative towards opponents like milling, discard or plain life loss proportional to the amount of gifted permanent could be one option that's more in line with the color change (thought the negative effects would probably targeted in order to preserve some political potential). Putting a +1/+1 counter per gift on Zedruu the Grixishearted to take advantage of commander damage could also work (especially when combined with auras like Herald of Torment), in which case you could also change power/toughness from the original's 2/4 to 4/2 to signal greater aggression.

For the sake of flavor its subtype would be Horse Djinn, with the artwork depicting a djinn with a mare's head, wearing a mouth-covering veil.

Feedback would be welcome, especially on ways to make Grixis!Zedruu more distinct from the original while still fulfilling the basic function of giving out torturous black cards, in addition to the blue and red ones they both share.

(A version containing green could also be made for the sake of giving that color a chance to show off its painful cards, in which case the creature in question should probably have monkey paws.)

Some cards I found:

Harmless Offering is a colorshifted Donate, Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs could be white, Molten Influence is a "counterspell" in red, Measure of Wickedness should be probably red, Dragonmaster Outcast is a creature that rewards your ramp and I feel he could be green, Stromgald Spy looks at target player's hand and could be blue, Treacherous Urge, Enslave and Ritual of the Machine are threaten/control magic effects in black, The Great Aurora and Ezuri's Predation are wraths in green, Bellowing Tanglewurm has a black keyword, Curse of the Swine is mass removal with exile in blue, Primal Order is direct damage in green, Mana Vortex and Land Equilibrium are land destruction in blue, Web of Inertia is a strange pillowfort card and graveyard hoser in blue, Concordant Crossroads gives haste in green (???), Oath of Lieges ramps in white, Spoils of War gives +1/+1 counters in black, Touch of Darkness is colorshifting in black, Infernal Genesis gives everybody tokens in black, Countryside Crusher should probably be Golgari, Mana Flare is a mana doubler in red (????), Dreams of the Dead is creature recursion in blue, Reality Twist is ???, Imprisoned in the Moon is straight up removal in blue, Icy Prison is a political Oblivion Ring in blue, Not Forgotten is a green effect, Stunted Growth discards cards from opponent's hand in green...
