Thanks for the suggestions! Yahenni's Expertise is a nice Card but unfortunately it would kill my own creatures. Which is why I chose Witch's Vengeance over it. Torment of Scarabs is fine, but I found it a bit boring after a while. But maybe I’ll add another one for Make Obsolete . :)

MagicMarc on Spreading Algae Deck

The real problem, like Flooremoji pointed out, is that you cannot force them to tap their land unless you add more cards. To stall your game plan, they just need to not tap the land enchanted with Spreading Algae. Once you start losing more card slots just to make it work then it starts looking like a bad combo.

Instead, try something like Kormus Bell + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and Cower in Fear. You can replace Cower in Fear with a lot of other cards like Doomwake Giant, Ethereal Absolution, Festering March, Profit / Loss, Make Obsolete, Plague Mare, Zealous Persecution and even Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite.

Though, I am guessing, a deck built like this wouldn't be popular with the people you play with.

I'm digging it, especially the Godhead of Awe and Make Obsolete or Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite combo. Thats sweet! I might steal that and make a deck just for that kind of combo.

I have tried Ravenous Slime and it wasn't very good at all 'cause the meta shifts lately so it was a good suggestion but the wrong time, you know? ... Grand Arbiter Augustin IV and Najeela, the Blade-Blossom dominating lately while Circu, Dimir Lobotomist and Marath, Will of the Wild (also Stax but with Kiki/Pod) wasn't a hard matchup.

Make Obsolete and Minister of Pain - I haven't tried them but in the nearest future I will! I like the idea but I would prefer Minister of Pain over Make Obsolete 'cause it's repeatable with Meren.

Assassin's Trophy - Good call! Also a good addition and on the list for this month!

I have look at your list and it's amazing! The addition of Bottomless Pit and Contamination with crackwood liege, Ophiomancer and Bitterblossom as token producers.

Q: When no other player helps to handle BloodPod or Breakfast Hulk, they are very hard to beat. (If you have some suggestions, write it down)

A: These are pretty much uphill battles but there are still things you can do to impede their plan.

BloodPod runs as many or even more dorks than us, which accelerates into a powerful game plan. I see that you have Caustic Caterpillar and Nature's Claim to take care of problematic enchantments(Natural State can be pretty good in a fast meta), so other things that you could consider are Minister of Pain or Make Obsolete to wipe out their dorks. If Tymna the Weaver or Tana, the Bloodsower is giving too many problems, you can consider Vendetta(does not work on Tymna), Dismember or Assassin's Trophy.

Breakfast Hulk sometimes gets the nut draw, but that's Breakfast Hulk for you. Like Bloodpod, they also run many or even more dorks than us for ramping/colour fixing etc, so what I have mentioned for Bloodpod also works for Breakfast Hulk. An important thing to note is both of these decks are quite reliant on Tymna to generate CA if they don't get the nut draw, so stop Tymna if you must. Breakfast Hulk also folds to Contamination if they don't have a dork that generate G to get rid of it.

Venturub on B/W Clerics

I may be wrong, since I did't test this deck enough, but I don't think things like Cover of Darkness are necessary. I do not attack with the clerics but with the Demons from Skirsdag High Priest. In order to have them, I have to have a creature dying in a turn: thus, the Selfless Spirit or the Orzhov Pontiff (killing your opponent creatures when it enters the game, and when the Haunt ability is activated with Starlit Sanctum).

The Demons from Skirsdag High Priest are 4/4 flying creatures, and I may have 6 flying 4/4 in turn 6: 1 in turn 3, 1 in turn 4, 2 in turn 5, 2 in turn 6. Those are to be boosted to 5/5 creatures with Zealous Persecution.

It is worth to note that your opponent should not normally have any blocking creature with all the Orzhov Pontiff, the Zealous Persecution and the Make Obsolete. If a Swords to Plowshares aims one Demon, the Mother of Runes or a Selfless Spirit will protect it.

first off, really cool deck. Something about running a deck with eight more of the same rodent than lands seems like everything that's awesome about magic to me. As far as the deck is concerned:

  • 4 Opt with only 4 sources? Risking a card being uncastable just so you can replace it for something else seems kinda bad.
  • Something I've found useful when playing this archetype is to play a lot of support cards with odd CMC for the sake of efficiency. Ruin Raider, Dreamstealer, Duress(essential against cards like Lost Legacy or Ixalan's Binding) or just tapped dual-lands are all a good use of every second turn.
  • I'm not that sure whether secret salvage is that great here. You're around 37% to have 5 lands on turn five (assuming you can cast Opt and Cartouche of Knowledge) and around 57% on turn 7 not to mention Scavenger Grounds or The Scarab God fizzling it. Dreamstealer or Ruin Raider might possibly be better value engines although admittedly less flavorful.
  • In the sideboard for against decks that both go wide and can remove Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive you might want Make Obsolete as both killing 1 toughness creatures and making 1 power creatures unable to trade with a rat is super relevant (you probably won't have the ascend for Golden Demise most games so I disagree with people saying you should run it).
  • Finally I'd suggest being aware of instant speed removal on Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive during combat if your opponent has expendable creatures untapped. A legitimate strategy might also be to hold the umezawa until you can untap with lethal while your opponent is tapped down/you know they have no interaction. Also not attacking with Umezawa to avoid Seal Away/Gideon's Reproach/'pump spells' could be right in certain scenarios.
