It's part of the infinite combo of Llanowar Envoy , Gauntlets of Light and Marwyn, the Nurturer with 5 +1/+1 counters, hence G/W.

I honestly don't see the point in using Llanowar Envoy as there are much better options. I would probably cut the Llanowar Envoy s for Paradise Druid , and more Elvish Clancaller s.

Using Llanowar Envoy you can convert the green into blue and white. Once you hit 7/7 on Marwyn, the Nurturer you generate on extra mana every cycle. Then you use the mana on Mystic Archaeologist to find Banefire and win the game.

Rather than just mana producing dorks you can have mana filtering dorks especially with your deck producing so much green mana. Orochi Leafcaller although not an elf works really well for mana filtering or you have Nomadic Elf and Llanowar Envoy less efficient but in elf form.

Did a little digging, Llanowar Envoy shows up under every color when using filters even though its mono green.

Also, when entering cards in the Inventory page, Llanowar Envoy does not show up when using filters that look for green and exclude every other color (also sorted by set but that shouldn't matter, it shows up under Dominaria when filtered). My best guess is that the card is entered with the wrong color identity in whatever database you use to sort them
