Kodama's Might

As far as I know, the vast majority of playgroups don't have consistent turn 3 comboing off. I wouldn't worry too much, it sounds like your playgroup plays at a pretty high level, but it's also not bad to aspire for greatness.

About the deck itself, I would try some more combos with your mana rocks and mana dorks and play fewer counterspells/removalspells. By that I mean things like Voltaic Key with Basalt Monolith. Clock of Omens with Emerald Medallion. Mystical Tutor into a Dramatic Reversal. Kodama's Might with Devoted Druid. Ideas Unbound for the turn when you plan to win. As I said, I'm building a Phelddagrif deck, so if you want any ideas, I'm happy to share them (though I don't guarantee they will be good.)

Yeah, I like the challenge of neglected themes.

I had Kodama's Might in there but swapped it for Inner Calm, Outer Strength because I found that hand size was consistently large with triggers from Elder Pine of Jukai et al. Plus, the kicker on Vines of Vastwood can serve the same function.

Phantom Tiger is a good suggestion -- I didn't get before that you could keep it around so well with an aura. Harbinger of Spring attracted me with its "protection from non-spirit creatures," but I agree it just isn't worth the cost in the end.

Traproot Kami is there because it's cheap to cast, on theme, slows down decks with flyers, and scales as the game goes on.

I agree artifact/enchantment removal makes more sense than bouncing lands back to player's libraries with Uproot.

Thanks!

Phantom Tiger should be better than Harbinger of Spring because it survives more removals and battles and if you manage to give it +1/+1 (with an equipment or aura card) you make it to a creature that can only be killed with destory or exil effects.Harbinger of Spring just cost to much to cast (damm that soulshift Tax).

6 CMC Creatures are too hard to play without reanimation so you should forgett about Moss Kami

Dripping-Tongue Zubera is a worse Doomed traveler for Spirit Tribal but still replaces itself.

Child of Thorns can at least jump in and protect another Spirit and make Combat a bit worse for your opponent like a worse Goblin Sledder

Traproot Kami won't work against that many decks because it is just a wall. It belong more in the Sideboard than the main Deck. It dodges a lot of Lightning Bolt and similar stuff (but only in late game) and might block Delver of Secrets  Flip butit's still quite slow.

Your sideboard missing interactions with artifacts and enchantments, Wear Away could work if you want to play on the Splice Ability a bit and Rending Vines could also remove a lot of cards (especially with the low curve of pauper) and it draws a card.

Uproot is quite expensive to take your opponent one turn back regarding lands. You mostly sacrifice your own turn to use it and many blue decks jsut respond with Gush to refill their hand. it might work against Bogle decks that enchant their land (Utopia Sprawl/Abundant Growth to ramp or fix mana (play about 18 lands) but they won't make the mistake of enchanting the same land with all enchantment more than once unless they draw nothing but one land. Still that would be a one trick pony that mostly comes to late into play.

As far as I can tell you rather want to interact during combat and battle tricks, which makes Kodama's Might (because of Splice) quite appealing just like Roar of Jukai which is easy to splice and is able to interact with Shinen of Life's Roar

But I have to say you've choosen a theme which is pretty hard to build in pauper (competetive).

I love suggestions!

@DaringApprenticeI went Arcane mostly out of flavor, and because they're functional reprints of cards I'd already considered(Wear Away is essentially naturalize with a sometimes trigger for Arcane so why not). Return to Earth is amazing for it's utility to pop flying creatures though, I'll probably put that in.

Drumhunter is good, since the draw power is actually more important than mana. I'd never even seen Deglamer so that's going in too, thanks!

I considered Blanchwood Armor but I find in EDH putting it on the general triggers people to try and murder him, whereas Strength of Cedars can be played as a combat trick. I still like Blanchwood though, I might swap it for something else in the deck.

Terrifying Presence goes in, Druid's Deliverance taken out.

Giant Growth swapped for Kodama's Might.

I like Gigantomancer, but in play-testing I found it got splatted every time it came out before it could be useful.

Yavimaya Enchantress is good, but I might take out both.

@Vortexflame: That's true, but Herald doesn't fit into my economy pricing(It's just a tad too expensive). Primal bellow's really nice though. Swapping it for Strength of Cedars because it's just cheaper and Daring is right that I lack arcane spells anyway.

If you want more suggestions, here are some more:

Since you don't have too many Arcane cards in general, I'd recommend taking out all of them and replacing them with cards that work better in general.

To replace Strength of Cedars, you could use Blanchwood Armor.

To replace Kodama's Might, you could use Giant Growth or Sylvan Might.

To replace Wear Away, there are a lot of options, but some include Fade into Antiquity, Return to the Earth, Deglamer/Unravel the Aether, Reclamation Sage, Consign to Dust, and Seal of Primordium.

Also, since you aren't running too many Auras, you could replace Gatherer of Graces with Yavimaya Enchantress, whose ability counts all enchantments, not just those that you control.

I cast Lava Spike and splice on Kodama's Might, then cast Kodama's Might. I target you with the spike and target my Fencing Ace with the kodama's might, then cast overrun, and attack with him and my 2 Llanowar Elves for a total of 24 trample
