Drag0nDude on Flying High

Cool deck! +1 from me.

WHAT TO TAKE OUT:Aerial Guide and Mighty Leap are not very good because most of your creatures already have flying.Slither Blade doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of your deck.Cartouche of Knowledge isn't great for the same reason as Aerial Guide. I think Cartouche of Solidarity is ok, but I would not run 4, so you should probably only run 3.

WHAT TO PUT IN:Definitely go up to 4 copies of Angel of Condemnation. This card is AMAZING value at only 4 mana, acting as a good attacker and blocker, as well as a form of removal. 3 Dauntless Avens (There is no picture for this i guess) have a better effect for this deck than Aerial Guide. Add an extra copy of Angel of Sanctions, as it is just such a great card. Judging by the decklist, I am guessing that you are trying to make this deck safe from rotation. However, I would run 4 Kitesail Scout to replace the Slither Blades as a low cost flyer. This card is only like 5 cents, so the investment is worth it.

With these suggestions, if my math is correct, these changes should bring you to 36 nonland cards. I would just cut 4 Islands and 4 Plains to bring you to 24 lands.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:If you are willing to spend some extra money and don't mind rotation, Archangel Avacyn  Flip is an awesome pickup for your deck. If you need more finishers, Glyph Keeper is a heavy hitter and is hard to get rid of.

Nice deck! I hope my comment helps :-)

Polybius on Reckoning of Zurgo

When it comes to creatures, I see about 22 that you could do without. Here's my list of the creatures you should oust:Accursed Witch  Flip, Aerial Responder, Anax and Cymede, Aven Skirmisher, Boggart Brute, Caravan Escort, Farbog Revenant, Foundry Champion, Hope of Ghirapur, Kitesail Scout, Lightning Runner, Mystic Familiar, Olivia, Mobilized for War, Relic Seeker, Renegade Wheelsmith, Riot Ringleader, Sabertooth Outrider, Sungrace Pegasus, Suntail Hawk, Sweatworks Brawler, Weldfast Engineer.

Many of these cards don't fit your theme or are weak in general. Right now you have a creature heavy strategy, where your creatures support Zurgo and help make him a more effective attacker. I think removing these creatures would benefit your deck a lot.

Pieguy396 on Awaken

This is technically Modern (if you want to get really technical, it's Frontier), though the only cards that aren't Standard legal are Narset Transcendent, Talent of the Telepath, Displacement Wave, and Thunderclap Wyvern. I was working on an Awaken Standard deck a little bit ago, and I used 4 Roil Spout and 4 Planar Outburst, which are imo the two best Awaken cards. I'm going to list changes to make the deck Standard legal, because I assume you don't want to pay the $150+ to make this deck competitive in Modern.

I absolutely love the Awaken mechanic, and I hope you have fun with the deck, regardless of whether or not you like my changes.

I would personally add Suntail Hawk or Kitesail Scout they cost just as much in terms of mana and they too fly and are 1/1's. or maybe add some drakes.

I am assuming your budget isn't super high given the current TCG player price of $13.30. However, cards like Hada Freeblade, Kazandu Blademaster, Akoum Battlesinger, Expedition Envoy, Firemantle Mage, Kabira Evangel, Ondu Cleric, Reckless Bushwhacker, Sylvan Advocate, Talus Paladin are all cards that should likely be considered over some of the cards you have currently -- such as Goblin Freerunner, Highland Berserker, Joraga Auxiliary, Kitesail Scout, Makindi Aeronaut, Makindi Patrol, Ondu Champion, Ondu War Cleric, Resolute Blademaster, and Tuktuk Scrapper. Kazuul Warlord, Munda, Ambush Leader, and Turntimber Ranger are also fairly mediocre. They can surely get out of control if left unchecked. But most competent players can and will save removal for them.

You would also benefit greatly in cutting your deck down to 60 cards. Basically, the reasoning behind this is you want to be able to consistently draw or have access to your best cards-- or have the card in hand that you need when you need it. The chances of that happening goes down the more cards you have in your deck. So imagine you are at 60 cards and are thinking about adding more. You have to ask yourself, "Is this card better than any of the other 60 cards?" If the answer is no, then do not add it. If the answer is yes, identify the card it is better than and substitute it.

Snow_Lynx on Odric's Chosen

Grimmsin, you are mistaken. The card states that, just LIKE first strike, the SAME rule is valid for EVERY kind of effect described on Odric, Lunarch Marshal. That means if I only have Kitesail Scout and Odric on the table, then BOTH will have flying. If I have the scout, Odric and, let's say, Hidden Dragonslayer, then all 3 cards will have flying + lifelink.

It does NOT need first strike to activate the other abilities being shared. You can check it out with any arbiter, Im 100% sure. So, to make the best use of him, you should have many different abilities, not only first strike...

P.s: check my deck again, changed a little, made it better against control.
