Overall thoughts

At a glance it looks good just slow. Maybe need to trim some of the fun cards for ramp.

A few ideas:

Some cards seem good. Others cute. Ajani's Chosen for instance. I don't think you have enough payoffs for a token bear to be helpful. I think it would be better as say Sakura-Tribe Elder for ramp or Sanctum Weaver / Destiny Spinner / Setessan Champion to go with your commander's ability.

Other things of note. Isareth the Awakener doesn't return things without you paying a ton of mana. I'd suggest some other reanimation if you want that like Victimize Dread Return or the like.

Syr Konrad, the Grim can do some work here too. 2 triggers each nontoken creature with your commander out could be powerful plus a mana sink that's decent as a enchantment.

You have some legendary tribal subtheme so maybe go deeper in it. I'm sure there are some historic payoffs or legend payoffs that might interest you.

According to EDHrec, my most obscure commander decks are the following:

Isareth the Awakener: 39 decks. Its a rat colony-based commander deck so might not count but there it is.
Glissa Sunseeker: 47 decks. Its a fun and annoying deck that makes stuff artifacts and then blows them up.
Patron of the Kitsune:180 decks. Annoying deck that gains a stupid life total with lame win conditions. I havent played it in a long time.

Props to the Blind Seer decks! I love that card.

Have you considered Isareth the Awakener as an additional way to recur you creatures? I've found that it is far more reliable with General's Enforcer. Hope this helps.

As a johnny, I am in full support of this idea and I like it a lot.

Probably your commander needs to be General Tazri.

Either way, I think Rainbow could allow you the opportunity to do some really cheeky things with blinking- especially with effects life Isareth the Awakener.

As to your combat concern, run Cunning Evasion. It forces your opponents to choose between taking the damage and recurring ETBs.

Don't forget about Cold-Eyed Selkie . Draw 7 is backbreaking and islandwalk is actually fairly relevant. Also my new finds have been anything that copies itself on attack or combat damage like Spawnwrithe or Nacatl War-Pride or myriad creatures.

I think Isareth the Awakener is also a cute way to get back a critical creature from the yard in the combat step.

Kruphix, God of Horizons also does work since this deck will be pretty mana hungry once volrath is on the field and it grants additional protection for volrath.

When I opened my first m20 booster pack, I pulled a Cavalier of Night . My first thought was putting it in a graveyard recursion/graveyard EDH theme deck. I never actually owned one in paper, so I was considering making one. Currently I would like the colors in Golgari or mono Black. Some commanders I considered were, Isareth the Awakener , Varina, Lich Queen , and Tasigur, the Golden Fang . Yes I know Tasigur includes blue, but still this commander is great. I know there are a lot more, and am hoping for some people to come by and suggest a few, graveyard gimmick, or recursion theme EDH commanders. Currently I do not have the budget for Meren or Ghoulcaller Gisa .

Under “ETB Abuse”, we gotsta put at least Guardian Project, Impact Tremors, Purphoros, God of the Forge, and Warstorm Surge. A really cool, crazy underrated/unknown/janky blink payoff is Isareth the Awakener. The trick is if you exile the creature, it gets exiled, but returns to the battlefield.
