Let's see if I can hit a vanilla mythic that's not Infinity Elemental.

Yesterday on Does Ob Nixilis, the Adversary …

The set and official rules aren't out yet, I know.

I cast an Ob Nixilis, the Adversary, and declare Casualty ∞ and sacrifice an Infinity Elemental to create a token. That token enters the battlefield with infinity starting loyalty. This is by the by, but totally hilarious and I'm going to post back here with confirmation when I get an answer from MaRo if it's allowed.

I create a token copy of the casualty nonlegendary token copy of Ob Nixilis, or have another permanent enter the battlefield as a copy of that casualty copy. Will the new copy also have starting loyalty ∞ (or whatever the casualty's starting loyalty is, in more traditional games)?

Omniscience_is_life un-cards won't necessarily be legal. But there are some less goofy and more reasonable cards(Earl of Squirrel was one I had in mind) that people might like to use outside of kitchen table. Stuff like Gleemax and Infinity Elemental are by far too silly to be using.

I would totally add Just Desserts even if it's just a worse Lightning Strike(which I see as likely to be added), just to have the option of dealing Pi damage. But I can see reasons to not use such cards.

I do have a couple cards I'd like to add, so if we set this up I'll be able to set up a good 100-ish card balanced list that can support a few fun archetypes.

If you're really a fan of the booty, try hitting Infinity Elemental with About Face. Thank me later.

Though too expensive and not very powerful, Battering Wurm feels like it fits the theme of "Big Heads Smash" really well. Malignus and Mossbridge Troll look like they could definitely do some work here. Ulvenwald Tracker can be pretty useful here too. It's too bad Infinity Elemental isn't legal in Commander ... maybe casual play =)? Love the concept (+1) and hope this helps.

Also, if you're playing with silver-border cards besides Mary and the Killbots, Infinity Elemental is basically a second Phage.

chosenone124 on Slaying Mantis vs infinite creatures

My opponent did something with Infinity Elemental and he has infinite tokens, which we denoted by drawing the infinity symbol on a piece of paper and putting it on the battlefield. He has a finite life total.

I cast Slaying Mantis. So if Slaying Mantis touches the piece of paper with the infinity on it, does that count as fighting all of the infinite tokens?

Neotrup on Numbers in EDH

Yes, No, Yes, No (see 2). According to Maro, you can distribute or assign 1/2 in silver border land, but the same ruling has not been extended to irrational numbers, this ruling has repeatedly been brought up in the context of deathtouch. The FAQ for unstable does talk about infinite life with giving Infinity Elemental lifelink, and also covers extending that to making infinite tokens, mana, etc, so you're definitely good on that front. Once you have infinite tokens, only a Wrath Effect would be able to get rid of them, as even somehow killing an infinite number would leave infinite remaining.
