Hello!

Let me preface this with a disclaimer. I haven't played commander. However, I do play a tuned Izzet deck and I feel that I could help with your deck.

  1. Essential blue cards: Counterspell and Cryptic Command. These are simply good cards that deserve to be in any blue deck. Remand is another card because it can help your commander trigger and draw you cards while forcing your opponent to sink mana into spells. Another card that you could use is Archmage Ascension to fish for good stuff after drawing things.

  2. Essential red cards: This is where you can make a few decisions. You could include a Combustible Gearhulk and several expensive burn spells to synergize with your commander, or you could go with a spell/storm variant and run Lightning Bolt, Needle Drop, and Braid of Fire as stated above. You could then run some Lava Axes or Inferno Jets to synergize with your commander.

  3. Possible inclusions: Epic Experiment could be really good if you had a bunch of mana, Djinn Illuminatus would be very helpful lategame, turning a lone Lightning Bolt or Electrolyze into a burn engine and/or draw engine. Electrolyze and Prophetic Bolt could also be very good.

Also, I haven't played much R/B or Grixis but I have a feeling Rakdos's Return would be good in here and Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker could be a powerful addition.

Duress and Siren Stormtamer go in the sideboard, and I'd replace Puncturing Blow with Vraska's Contempt since it's strictly better. Extra lands are also needed, this feels like a 23-land-deck or even 24. As for the maybeboard: Boneyard Parley and Inferno Jet suck. The Scarab God is great as an end-curve finisher in the main deck if you have the budget. In the sideboard, Liliana, Death's Majesty would be good for closing out grindy matched, especially cuz we have a lot of zombies. Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh would also be useful for even grindier games. Lost Legacy Would also be a sideboard option. All in all, nice deck!

I would cut the 2 Inferno Jet and replace them with another 2 Glimmer of Genius

Then i would replace 2 Shock's with 2 Essence Scatter's

Then i would cut the Combustible Gearhulk (That card is pure trash in control) with either 2 more Baral, Chief of Compliance's or 2 more Torrential Gearhulk's

I personally think Riddleform is a bad card, but i guess the opinions split here.

Then you will only need 22 lands 23 at most. I'd cut 2 Mountain and 2 Island for 1 Field of Ruin and 1 Scavenger Grounds (These are good for graveyard strategies i.e. Eternalize, The Scarab God , God-Pharaoh's Gift )

Then put in 2 Essence Scatter's for the remaining land's

You might wan't to consider Rekindling Phoenix or another Chandra, Torch of Defiance as finishers. But i don't know your budget :)

@Legendary_penguin_of_death:

Thanks. I have considered Inferno Jet but I feel that Hazoret's Undying Fury could hit much harder than Inferno Jet and if it is bust and just a bunch of land then I just at the very least burnt through a mana pocket. As for Hungry Flames I also really like this card but I felt that Bombard is just better at killing creatures (aka: Heart of Kiran, Glorybringer lol) and ultimately pulled ahead of Hungry Flames but these are still excellent suggestions. Now Wildfire Eternal is a real interesting card I haven't considered and I may need to add that in... It's good at avoiding the most efficient removal and has a good body with an extremely good ability I just may have to let this creature in. Thanks.

Very nice. What do you think about Inferno Jet as a finisher. Wildfire Eternal can be fun with that as well allowing you to cast it for free. Hungry Flames is pretty sweet giving 5 damage for just 3 mana.

I totally get what xhuggels is saying about Boneyard Parley. There are just too many situations where it wouldn't be useful. (It's great if your opponent has some huge creatures in the graveyard, but your deck is not really built to put those huge creatures into the graveyard.) This is in comparison to Rivers Rebuke which would almost always be great. (That'll teach them to leave the Wildfire unblocked.)

I also like Inferno Jet: 1. It's always going to be helpful when activated by the Wildfire or Neheb and 2. It has cycling so you can get rid of it if you find yourself in the situation where it doesn't look like it's going to be useful. (Like it's turn four, you've got three land out and three creatures, but no Wildfire Eternals. All you've got in your hand is big sorceries and you're not sure when you're going to be able to cast them. Time to try to get new cards.) xhuggels concern about having too many big sorceries is valid. Inferno Jet helps mitigate that concern.

Got it. I think, though, that because of their special abilities you don't need to buff up the Eternals. Those abilities (drawing cards, casting sorceries for free) are scary enough without having them have higher power. Buffing them seems too small an improvement. You might be better served, as another commenter mentioned, having more powerful spells so you can better take advantage of the Wildfire Eternal's ability. I'm not an expert on the current standard, but, looking around, maybe Inferno Jet, Hazoret's Undying Fury, Overflowing Insight , or River's Rebuke ?

Bloodwater Entity is probably stronger in here than Cryptic Serpent, only because it is evasive and recurs a card for you. Since it looks like the way you intend to win is with Enigma Drake, you may get more use out of Magma Spray than Shock for things like Scrapheap Scrounger, or at least have it is a sideboard card. I am a little curious why you are running Compelling Argument when Essence Scatter would probably do much more for you. If you want more damage to a player Inferno Jet is pretty cool. One last thing, Invigorated Rampage Sure Strike and Dive Down can make Enigma Drake very scary very fast.
