Icatian Store

Land

Icatian Store enters the battlefield tapped.

You may choose not to untap Icatian Store during your untap step.

At the beginning of your upkeep, if Icatian Store is tapped, put a storage counter on it.

Tap, Remove any number of storage counters from Icatian Store: Add (White) to your mana pool for each storage counter removed this way.

This deck looks really cool! I really love how incredibly affordable your deck is. For a few more dollars you can add amazing improvements that will significantly improve your deck's power. There's two cards, however, that are a must:

First, Sunforger will cast ANY instant you run, allowing answers straight from your deck AND enables Vial Smasher the Fierce if used outside your turn. Path of Mettle  Flip is a decent repellant, but only if you flip it. More likely it will be an inconsistent killer or chip damage, which will only antagonize your foes, and worse it doesn't synergize with either Partner. Sunforger also makes Akiri and Jor kadeen happy, and its versatility will serve you more accurately.

Second, Mistveil Plains (searchable by Oreskos Explorer btw) pairs spectacularly with Sunforger, allowing you to recycle spent instants. Spectacular.

I recommend these replacements, which give big improvements:

*First of all, Sun Titan and Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle will almost always better targets to reanimate. Second, compare Pyre Zombie to Torment of Hailfire: For 7BB (the cost of return/cast/sac), you'd get 7 instances of "Each opponent loses 3 life unless that player sacrifices a nonland permanent or discards a card". While Hailfire is a prohibitively expensive card, it still highlights how inefficient Pyre Zombie is without your reanimators. Considering the # of vehicles you run, Greasefang is much better.

I have some land suggestions for you! Not all of them are great, but some of them could be pretty snazzy.

@ForTheOldFrame: Thanks for your upvote and your detailed comment and sorry for posting so late. I was busy the last days and didn't find the time to reply.

I will try to answer to all your suggestion but I myself aren't an expert in EDH too. So maybe I am wrong with some choices and many cards depend on teh playgroup you are playing:

So thanks again for your comment and now I have the problem to find cards to take out for your suggestions ;-)

Continuing from before...

  1. I like your choice of Wraths. If you're reconsidering, think about Cataclysm -- one of the strongest of them all, and from Exodus! -- or the game's only instant-speed Wrath, Fated Retribution. Also consider Catastrophe or Armageddon to knock out enemy lands, once you've got a good board state or you think there's a Genesis Wave coming. (12 lands is the magic number.) Land destruction is dishonorable, but Zacama's more dishonorable than that; I'm trying to teach myself that if the card isn't banned, it's not dishonorable enough to not use.
  2. Cessation is a lot harder to kill than Pacifism.
  3. If you're willing to use planeswalkers, Elspeth Tirel is a reusable Wrath/Disk; the other two Elspeths give you chump-attackers for Sword of the Animist. Gideon of the Trials gives you a Gideon Worship effect, and there are other playable Gideons. OTOH, planeswalkers aren't exactly Rebel-era cards -- I can understand not wanting to use them, and I think you can win without them.
  4. Angel's Trumpet is a crazy, game-warping card which... probably doesn't have a place here after all, since it creates a risk of the enemy killing your utility creatures. But it's worth knowing about, I think.
  5. Rune of Protection: Red and Rune of Protection: Green. Since you're mono-white, the W requirement isn't a drawback, and you can cycle them in the wildly unlikely event that you don't face any Gruul, Elementals, dinosaurs, or treefolk.
  6. Icatian Store is a mono-white storage land. I have no idea if storage lands are worth bothering with or not, but I'm kind of liking them so far.
  7. Zhuge Liang (Kongming, "Sleeping Dragon") is always useful in White Weenie. Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite is probably a stronger option, but I don't like Phyrexians on a Vorthos level; it's much more fun to run historical figures. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhuge_Liang)
  8. Pariah and Pariah's Shield have fun interactions with Cho-Manno, but probably aren't necessary if you're using a relevant Circle/Rune of Protection.

Regardless, great work so far! I found that a lot of the cards I was going to recommend were already in the deck; and I'm hanging on to this deck for future reference. If I ever build something similar, this will be the starting point!

No vivid cycle? (Vivid Meadow for example?)

No storage lands? (Icatian Store, Saprazzan Cove, Dreadship Reef?)

Tendo Ice Bridge and Aether Hub also combo with Atraxa, Praetors' Voice...

was looking over your lands.....not to say scrying isn't awesome or quite useful, but your deck does have a huge roll in amassing counters of all types...lands like Icatian Store ,Sand Silos etc...(fallen empire). which are lesser forms of the time spiral storage lands, but say if you find through playing that you are constantly short on a specific color. you can always choose to sac one or 2 scry lands for a lesser mono storage land. But either way this deck is pimp and deserves a pimped out deckbox imo. gg

Concerted Effort seems a little pointless, in this deck it's only going to give protection from black and green if you happen to also draw Mirran Crusader. Since you get most of the effect from your commander anyway I'd drop it .

Burnished Hart might be replaced by Solemn Simulacrum. Depends on preferences, Hart is lower mana cost and finds two lands, but Simulacrum puts a plains on the field.

Steelshaper's Gift or Stoneforge Mystic could help pull abilities out of your Library potentially. Maybe Stoneforge Mystic over Concerted Effort?

I like Icatian Store in mono-white voltron, but some people don't like saving up mana. I like it because it allows you to cast stronger spells with fewer lands, even though it takes some time, helping prevent mana screw.

Why not run synergistic lands like:

The Vivid lands: Vivid Grove, Vivid Creek, Vivid Marsh and Vivid Meadow;

The Fallen Empires Storage Lands: Bottomless Vault, Hollow Trees, Sand Silos, and Icatian Store;

The Time Spiral Storage lands: Saltcrusted Steppe, Calciform Pools, and Dreadship Reef;

Five Color lands: Gemstone Mine, Tendo Ice Bridge, and Mirrodin's Core;

And then there's Llanowar Reborn
