I'm assuming you:

Route 1) Stength Draw with Worse Creature Tempo

Cut cards that are good tempo plays but otherwise don't help you win by drawing cards. The idea is that you draw into Approach of the Second Sun , cast it, and then trigger your draw abilities to be able to cast it again very quickly. I assume this deck isn't trying to be super competitive. I added a little recursion for toolbox, while still being group hug.

Side Note: I really don't like Sunscorch Regent but I get why he's in the deck as part of a wincon. I just feel Toothy, Imaginary Friend and Pir, Imaginative Rascal are very similar and provide much more to the deck in an obvious way, but they cost $8 as a pair so I didn't want to formally recommend them.

Have Simic Ascendancy , cast Toothy, Imaginary Friend and Pir, Imaginative Rascal , draw 5 cards with in game triggers which puts 10 on toothy which puts 20 on Simic Ascendancy .

Hey! Fantastic Licia deck :)

I have one as well and mine is a bit more heavy on the control and has a significantly stronger mana base. Love some of your choices though and they have inspired me. I've been thinking about Arcbond and Hatred for a long time and have them in my "sideboard" and will be purchasing them sooner rather than later.

My experiences have been the same with the deck as yours. It can switch gears between combo and beatdown very quickly and that can be tough on your opponents to react to! Makes it a ton of fun to play.

I also don't run the full Sanguine/Exquisite combo and just run Exquisite Blood (well I have Vizkopa Guildmage but I don't look to assemble the "combo"). I prefer Exquisite atm since it combos with Aetherflux Reservoir but after going over your deck I think Bond might actually have more utility and do more damage overall.

A few suggestions I have that have helped my deck. Icatian Moneychanger is hilarious and can get you a turn 3 Licia if played on turn 1! I'd rather have it in the deck than for example Nyx-Fleece Ram . My biggest card draw spells are Ad Nauseam , Necropotence and Necrologia and they're all insane in the deck. Pair them up with Children of Korlis/Tainted Sigil or a Reliquary Tower / Thought Vessel and you'll be drawing 30+ cards easily.

I also love Ivory Tower since it costs so little and functions so well in gaining 2-4 life most of the time. With the above draw spells it can get disgusting though!

I could go on forever, but I'll just mention one more card draw engine in my deck that I almost forgot that I think is even better in your build and that is Disciple of Bolas . He'll draw you 10+ cards and gain you 10+ life so easily in this deck.

If you're curious about my deck it's here The Price of Blood

hkhssweiss, she really is a ton of fun! The colors, the flavor and how much a table underestimates her are all things that I love about her.

Weathered Wayfarer is definitely better, that's true. I have my single copy tied up in my Iroas, Hate Bears list at the moment, which is one of my more competitive builds. Will definitely add him in in the coming months.

Regarding the other suggestions. I've had Dawn of Hope, Crackling Doom and Wear / Tear in the deck before. The latter two could make a comeback sometime, it's just a matter of preference for the removal package really.

I really wanted Dawn of Hope to be good in the deck I really did, but it always underperformed. We have such powerful draw engines in the deck that it paled in comparison and didn't work with the mass lifegain plan. Would work better with a deck that gains life frequently in smaller chunks.

The Partners are amazing and I've been thinking about Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder as an addition for a long time. They'd both do a lot of work in the deck but the creature count might be a little on the low side for Tymna the Weaver. Only one way to find out though.

Archangel of Thune is great but very expensive, honestly I'd probably play something like Baneslayer Angel instead but there's no denying the Archangel is strong. The ceiling is of course much higher on her.

Bloodchief Ascension could be a nice win condition / inevitability for the deck! I have a copy of it but it's in use at the moment. Definitely a good suggestion!

Toxic Deluge is great as well and fits the theme of the deck. I'm opting for Pestilence instead at the moment since it has nice versatility since it can win the game on its own.

Finally Chaplain's Blessing used to be in the deck and it's a nice ritual for our commander which can give us explosive starts, which is still by no means necessary and sometimes felt lackluster to be honest. I'm liking the lifegain cards that can gain us life repeatedly over many turns a bit more but it could find it's home into the deck again. I'm a little bit of a hypocrite though since I'm running Icatian Moneychanger that does similar things and can get Licia down on turn 3 for example. Just hard to find what to cut instead.

Thank you again for the comments!

First off thank you for the upvotes!

Really like what you did here. My playgroup is starting to get into PEDH and this is a fantastic starting point for me. I haven't played any PEDH yet so I am not sure how heavy spot removal is available in these kinds of decks. Would something like Icatian Moneychanger, Martyr of Sands, Augur il-Vec, Lone Missionary, Qarsi Sadist, Shu Farmer, Vault Skirge, Scholar of Athreos, Silent Attendant, Benediction of Moons, Death Watch, Golden Urn, Scent of Jasmine and a number of White "Gain X Life" spells fit?

I'm guessing card draw eventually becomes the main problem for this deck and you go into top-deck mode.

Any advice would be great, really looking forward to giving this a try.

zombob57 I love that suggestion! I haven't felt great about Cabal Ritual in the deck, I will happily replace with Burnt Offering. I will add Sacrifice to the maybeboard for now, but it could be that I want both.

I will also be finding room for Sunbeam Spellbomb, probably replacing Tavern Swindler. After goldfishing with this a bunch of times, Tavern Swindler just feels too cute, and Sunbeam Spellbomb can cycle if you don't need the lifegain to up my cantrip count.

I'm also considering Icatian Moneychanger, although I'm not sure if more one shot lifegain type cards are where I want to head. I think I may need to shore up the cantrip count for Spells Matters payoffs.

@hoardofnotions thank you for the help ! I wouldn't cut Kabira Crossroads because it sometimes help with casting Licia, but Scoured Barrens can surely go away. Winding Canyons would have been good if I had kept cards that would give me life during my opponent's turn, but since I was prioritizing casting Licia on my turn, there's not a lot of way to gain life on other players turn... On the other hand Thawing Glaciers is exactly what I need when i don't have my Mardu colors!

Sun Titan is very good, didn't think about it. Even more than just giving me back my life enablers, I can take back cards like Bastion Protector, Favor of the Mighty or Mother of Runes. I will add it asap. And surely,I didn't realize how many Vampires I have cut since the precon deck. I don't really want to take New Blood away, but I may need to...

As for Phyrexian Reclamation, I'm not sure, since there are only 17 creatures in this deck. It surely can bring back sacrificed creatures like Icatian Moneychanger or Martyr of Sands, but other than that, I think I'd prefer a tutor. Demonic Tutor is too pricey for me, but Enlightened Tutor seems to be exactly what I need : Can go search for Sunbeam Spellbomb or Sunspring Expedition for enabling Licia, or for any protection. I'll add it to the deck instead of New Blood

Thanks for the insight!
