Horrifying Revelation

Sorcery

Target player discards a card, then puts the top card of his or her library into his or her graveyard.

I like this a lot. I play pioneer, so have made some adjustments to fit. I had a couple of questions... You mention Horrifying Revelation, Grasp of Darkness, and Cry of Contrition. Where would you slot these into the deck as they are not in the card list and what would you remove?

Keep in mind, Modern is a format full of fetch lands and graveyard heavy decks. More times than not, your opponent will do the heavy lifting for you. ALSO maybe consider adding some discard? I know this is budget so maybe Horrifying Revelation? It can help to turn on Your other rogues and offers a bit of control.

Throw in a couple Horrifying Revelation to make even the top of their library a shitty place to be!!

Probably not unless those top-of-library tutors are legal in legacy (sorry, I don't know the banlist like at all).

I really like the deck, mono black is the coolest thing outside mono red in 60 card formats.

Why do you run Horrifying Revelation s?

You will most definitely need more removal. At least some Fatal Push ? And with the amount of discard you are running, Blackmail is probably better than either Distress or Horrifying Revelation . I would be careful of an opposing Chalice of the Void since this deck has many 1-CMC spells.

Welcome to Tapped Out!

  • From what I gather is that you're going for a mill intensive B/U(Dimir) deck?
  • How cheap(budget) are we talking about?

Thought Scour | Tome Scour | Horrifying Revelation | Hedron Crab | Fraying Sanity | Drowner Initiate | Dimir Charm | Dream Twist | Compelling Argument | Cathartic Adept | Breaking // Entering | Jace's Erasure | Memory Erosion | Memory Sluice | Mind Funeral | Nemesis of Reason

These are all under $10, I would also invest in having 3 to 4 copies of a number of these.

Horrifying Revelations, Adventurous Impulse, Costly Plunder, please. 4-8 of each if you can

maybe Bioshift & Commune with Nature also, if you see any.
