Homarid

Creature — Homarid

Homarid enters the battlefield with a tide counter on it.

At the beginning of your upkeep, put a tide counter on Homarid.

As long as there is exactly one tide counter on Homarid, it gets -1/-1.

As long as there are exactly three tide counters on Homarid, it gets +1/+1.

Whenever there are four tide counters on Homarid, remove all tide counters from it.

I think your true favorite cards of all time are actually Dwarven Pony, Homarid & Chandler

I wasn’t a huge fan of phasing when it first came out but I’ve been hoping that they use it for ocean-like effects, like a simpler version of Homarid; I love the reoccurring/rhythmic wave feeling of things coming and going that way. I think they could make some really great ocean/water creatures with phasing.

Homarid and Tidal Influence are the only cards with Tide counters thus far.

Homarid Breeding Season

Enchantment

At the beginning of your upkeep, put a tide counter on an Island you control that doesn't have any counters on it. If you control an Island without any counters on it, create a 2/2 blue Homarid creature token, otherwise sacrifice all Homarids you control.

I'd like to see a card that works well with Kwain, Itinerant Meddler

Homarid Fighter

At the beginning of your upkeep, remove all tide counters from Homarid Fighter and add for each counter removed this way. That mana doesn't leave mana pools as steps and phases end, until end of turn. Then, if no counters were removed this way, put a tide counter on Homarid Fighter.

Homarid fighter gets +1/+1 for each tide counter on it

4/4

Tried to use tide counters a bunch (like on Homarid), hope its interesting, although it is kinda clunky and a lot of text. Also, maybe I should have used +1/+1 counters instead of using tide counters for flavor?
