Halls of Mist is fun, Maze of Ith, Mystifying Maze, Labyrinth of Skophos all deal with attackers. Another way to deal with creatures is with removal: enter Quicksand and Mouth of Ronom. When protecting your own creatures Yavimaya Hollow is the best. With your general being a 6/6 Arena will kill quite a few unfortunate souls.

Petrified Field is great for recursion of valuable lands, Tolaria West will find the valuable lands and when paired with the field you get two tutors.

Soldevi Excavations is good filtering on a land, Search for Azcanta  Flip is great for finding noncreature spells; however, note that it also cannot get lands. Halimar Depths is a one time top deck filter, you have to decide whether entering tapped is small enough to ignore. Castle Vantress is going to be the best land for this, four mana plus a tap is expensive though.

All creature lands are great, but given enough mana Urza's Factory is even better, just pumping out creatures. Hostile Desert takes advantage of all the lands that will undoubtedly be entering your graveyard. Of course the aforementioned Field of the Dead is the best at generating blockers and possibly attackers.

Here's how it works:

Start with Disciple of the Vault and Sharuum the Hegemon out. Cast either Sculpting Steel or Phyrexian Metamorph , and have it enter as a copy of Sharuum. Legendary rule kicks in, you have to put one in the graveyard. Then, after it's in the graveyard, fake-Sharuum's etb triggered ability goes on the stack, allowing you to return an artifact from your graveyard to the battlefield. Choose the fake-Sharuum that just hit the yard, and it re-enters, allowing the loop. The Disciple of the Vault is there to convert the constant leaves-the-battlefield into life loss. There are a couple of variations and substitutions possible, but this is the basic version.

I'd like to try Halls of Mist and Silent Arbiter in a Turbofog-ish control deck and annoy the token spammers.

Thanks to you, legendofa! I'm still messing around w/ the deck and will update it again tomorrow... don't have copies of either of the cards you suggested yet, but would I need to have Salvaging Station in play as well for your plan to work? I "stole" the Lich+Coil combo from another T/O user, but as far as I know Halls of Mist with Silent Arbiter was invented by me :D

I did want to adjust life totals by odd numbers, hence the usage of Chandra and Koth. But maybe you’re right.

And my thinking on keeping the creature count light was to keep avoid collateral damage from Repercussion and my mass removal. But I may only end up getting punched in the face for twenty by Wood Elves and Trinket Mages, so you could be on to something.

I had considered other control elements, like Mudslide, Halls of Mist, and Maze of Ith. I guess I have to think long and hard about where I want to take this deck —- more control, or aggro.

If you’re still going with a sac theme I’d consider playing Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest.

Some cards I’ve found quite useful are Aether Spellbomb, Glacial Chasm, Halls of Mist, Urza's Bauble, Mishra's Bauble, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Mirror Image, Phantasmal Image, River Kelpie, and Night Incarnate.
