Greatsword of Tyr

Artifact — Equipment

Whenever equipped creature attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on it and tap up to one target creature defending player controls.

Equip (: Attach this to target creature you control. Equip only as a sorcery. This enters the battlefield unattached and stays on the battlefield if the creature this card is attached to leaves the battlefield.)

Crow-Umbra, I’m 100% swapping Argentum Armor for Wear / Tear. Wear/Tear will undoubtedly see more playing time and quite honestly be more useful and fun.

Do you have suggestions for substitutions for Greatsword of Tyr and/or Two-Handed Axe?? Maybe both equipment artifacts cards could be dropped for a singular more synergistic equipment artifact and then another card that does something else??

Also I’d love to checkout your decklist you mentioned and see what I can get from it. Where can I locate it??

Lastly your explanations for why certain cards are better or more useful than others is spot on and very easy to understand!

No prob, glad the suggestions were to your liking! First and foremost, I'd say to focus your upgrades on the aspects of the deck that you have the most fun with, especially in the context of your playgroup or LGS meta.

Personally, I've had a lot of fun running Isshin as a Tokens Go-Wide strat for the past year. My deck is currently running about 12 of the same creatures you currently are. If you're interested, my decklist has a primer which discusses some of the card choices I've made.

Once you are ready to make more upgrades, I think that Wayfarer's Bauble, Greatsword of Tyr, Two-Handed Axe, and Argentum Armor can be your next round of cuts for more synergistic swaps. Argentum Armor is the first one I'd probably swap; it's 12 total mana for a +6/+6 buff and destroying 2 permanents on an attack (if Isshin is out). Dismantling Wave or Wear / Tear could be swaps for Argentum Armor if you want another multi-target removal option. I'd lean Wear/Tear

I was wondering if i could get your thoughts on Greatsword of Tyr I saw it do work in a deck recently. I have a deck with Balan, Wandering Knight at the helm that is simular to your equipment deck but much less optimized. Do you think it's worthwhile as an equipment? Or in a vacuum is it just too unexciting.

Removing:
Zendikar Resurgent, too much cost and we don't need card draw on creature cast.

Adding:
Greatsword of Tyr, low cost with good benefits.

Some suggestions from the recent sets that may have flown under your radar:

Burakos, Party Leader: You'll at least cause an opponent to lose 2 life and you create 2 treasure tokens, there are a few "party" cards in my Isshin list so sometimes I get some more bang for my buck out of him.

Elder Brain: this card has just been hilarious. It may be high on the CMC but with the treasure tokens made you can still run it out fairly quickly.

Archon of Cruelty: not so new, and high CMC, but I haven't had issues getting it out and it flat out wins games. (I had one game where I discarded Archon to Fable of the Mirror-Breaker  Flip, brought it back with Olivia, Crimson Bride, next turn put out Isshin and used the mirror breaker to copy Archon and it was game over. mind you this was in about the first 5 turns.

Black Market Connections and Smuggler's Share have become staples in most of my decks. Highly recommend.

Greatsword of Tyr: bonkers in Isshin

Mysterious Limousine: seems janky but has been an all-star

Hammers of Moradin fall is a similar vein to greatsword of Tyr

Urabrask, Heretic Praetor: I did not like this card when it was spoiled, I decided to test it as a means to counter control decks and give some more card draw and it has been surprisingly good. It doesn't seem like it is amazing when you're using it, but being on the other side of it playing control or a combo deck it was a nightmare.

I appreciate the suggestions and direction there! I feel like I've made some great changes to this deck, both using some of your suggestions as well as digging a little deeper to provide options! I think now my next goal is to figure out what I'd like to swap out to get a Greatsword of Tyr and Smuggler's Share in here. Possibly Archivist of Oghma and Deep Gnome Terramancer as well if I can manage to get multiple copies of them.
