Gorgon Recluse Discussion

You could potentially cheat out decent spells with their madness cost...things like Asylum Visitor, Alms of the Vein, Big Game Hunter, Fiery Temper, Bloodhall Priest, From Under the Floorboards, Gorgon Recluse, and Dark Withering.

These are all pretty cheap and have some decent abilities...

Hi! Thanks for your deck, I am a big fan of non-UG madness myself.

Cards to consider, espcially if you feel mana-confident:Violent Eruption as it helps wipe out several smaller creatures and can be nice against aggro decks. Arc Trail works similarly and you can cast it from your hand.

I tried to put together a GR spellshaper madness and even though I have a weak spot for Bola Warrior, it is not very mana-efficient and you cannot use it outside combat, which is the main hinderance of most of your discard outlets. I would suggest Kris Mage who is cheaper to cast and more versatile, especially against aggros. Or you can use her to finish off a bigger creature. Or in the worst Undertaker.

If you are not playing against black and you feel you can muster toghether BB, Gorgon Recluse could be nice.

Any particular reason for not running the Twins of Maurer Estate since you feature them on the deck description?

As for discard outlets, what about Heir of Falkenrath  Flip?

hi,
nice deck although personally i would remove Incorrigible Youths && Gorgon Recluse cause they both cost to much, even on madness.
Going on the value side i would add resuable creatures from grave.Shambling Remains and Extractor Demon are basically the same although you do get to attack only once, but i would prefer the haste on demand rather the discard maybe permanent.
Also aint 18 lands low even for aggro? i mean how do you expect to cast Crumble to Dust reliably? Maybe go 20lands?
Other than that +1 on the build seems solid enough.

Flaying Tendrils > Biting Rain. I dont care if it has madness, tendrils is awesome. Exiling is extremely powerful.

Other madness creatures that can synergize with Lotleth Troll: Arrogant Wurm, Big Game Hunter, Gorgon Recluse, Grave Scrabbler, Muck Drubb, Reckless Wurm.

Other madness cards in general: Avacyn's Judgment, Gibbering Descent, Senseless Rage, Strength of Lunacy.

Fetches can help with your manabase.

With the large amount of, well, aggro in this deck, might I suggest Gaea's Anthem, Beastmaster Ascension, Whip of Erebos, or Bow of Nylea? Those could help.

Also, Having 2 discard enablers, one being creature specific, is not recommended. With discard being so heavily needed, more outlets are in demand.

I love it :3 looks fun to play and more functional that most Malfegor builds. Asylum Visitor acts kinda like Blood Scrivener, but potentially better. Murderous Compulsion, Brink of Madness, Gorgon Recluse, Stensia Masquerade and Psychotic Episode all look like playable madness spells. Ruby Medallion and Jet Medallion look good in this deck, and especially so if you're trying to dump your hand early, or play your demon dragon with madness spells. Malfegor reliably triggers ferocious for Flamewake Phoenix and (even though it's not synergistic) Temur Battle Rage

This reminds me my first attempt to make a madness deck (it was BR, but less competitive than yours)

I used to play Nightshade Assassin, Gorgon Recluse, Dark Withering and Razormane Masticore, Hellspark Elemental, Terminate, Deepcavern Imp...It wasn's a winning deck, but I was able to kill everithing that breathes on the board XD
