Ghostly Flame

Enchantment

Black and/or red permanents and spells are colorless sources of damage.

I am working on a Rakdos morph deck and have come across Thran Lens and Ghostly Flame.

Thran Lens seems to have more obvious applications such as:

Ghostly Flame on the other hand I can't think of any useful applications as it doesn't circumvent targeting a creature with "protection from red/black". Even if it did that would be a niche ability not prevalent in my meta.

So I was curious if there were any cards/abilities that benefit from Thran Lens and Ghostly Flame beyond the ones I mentioned.

Saw your post on /tg/. Instead of commenting in that thread, I'm posting my thoughts here.

Questionable cards:

  • Eternal Thirst - Only two target for it in your deck.
  • Ghostly Flame - Overall, I don't think you need to worry about opponent's preventing damage from colored sources, unless this is beneficial in your meta.
  • Outpost Siege - You don't have enough creatures to benefit from the 2nd option. 1st option doesn't seem worth slotting this card in for.
  • Rite of the Raging Storm - You already mentioned this was removed, but just emphasizing it further.
  • Shizo, Death's Storehouse - Only two targets for it in your deck.
  • Shrine of the Forsaken Gods - I'm mixed on this one. Could stay in due to the number of artifacts you run.
  • Basalt Monolith - Only worth using if you can go infinite with it (unless I'm missing that combo piece).
  • Oblivion Stone - An EDH staple, but I think it is too slow for this deck.
  • Pariah's Shield - Only two targets for it in your deck.
  • Torpor Orb - Strong control effect. I'm concerned it will work against you more than your opponents given your enchantments that trigger when creatures ETB.
  • Unstable Obelisk - Might be too slow for this deck.

Granted, I don't run Mogis and I might be making some wrong calls here. Hence why I say these cards are questionable.

dan this one would work great! Curse of Stalked Prey

Curse of the Pierced Heart

Dragon Mantle FREE CARD! (cuz you get to draw a new one)

Dual Casting (WOW!)

Fire Whip (if the creature is tapped it can't block that elf, plus one more damage is good, and you could use it to kill a small creature if you needed to)

Ghostly Flame (this one will stop protection spells from preventing your damage...)

Molten Vortex (this one is so good! you can sac tons of lands with all your drawing)

Quest for Pure Flame (this one is awesome! could be an easy double damage by turn 3)

Rain of Gore (hee hee watcha gonna do with that Wellwisher now norah?)

Seal of Fire (basic reserve burn spell, could be useful in a lot of situations)

Smoke (DEFENSE!)

Storm World (hurts people when they don't have cards in their hands...)

Suleiman's Legacy (do you hate djinns? yeah, me neither, actually pretty much all djinn creatures suck anyways...)
