Even the Odds Discussion

I found some cool things when trying to find human solders. Brave the Elements could save your creatures from some hate, or a free blocking turn. you could also use Cloudshift to flicker Captain of the Watch or Ranger of Eos for extra triggers.

MindAblaze, absolutely! Do you already have a gameplan in mind, or would you like suggestions for a deck direction from me?
Because either way, I'm assuming that the idea is to flip Kytheon as soon as possible (turn 3-4) and then spam board wipes after activating his 0 or +1 to protect him or other creatures.
If that's the case, you want two other creatures by turn 3-4 to attack with so that he flips. Those creatures will probably die (this is commander, after all), but a worthy sacrifice to get a flipped Kytheon, I think. Activate his +2, and I think 5 loyalty is a good place to be for turn 3-4.
Those two creatures can be two tokens made via a 2-3 drop (4+ drops are too slow!), and I have put them here for your convenience:
- Alliance of Arms
- Secure the Wastes
- Gather the Townsfolk
- Raise the Alarm
- Servo Exhibition
- Vessel of Ephemera
- Even the Odds
- Hive Stirrings
- Master's Call
- Midnight Haunting
- Oath of Gideon
- Timely Reinforcements
- Spectral Procession
Fourteen is what we need, and fourteen is what we can get.

Going wide in Boros? Soldier tribal? I'll suggest some cards to cut in your current list. Keep in mind these are suggestions and I don't expect you to accept them without thinking (saying regarding the battleshaper particularly; he's more okay than the others).
These cards are generally too small scale to make a difference. You need to be thinking larger scale than this.
- Bomber Corps
- Boros Battleshaper (very expensive, can be played around by opponent)
- Boros Elite
- Conclave Phalanx (expensive, one-time ETB)
- Duergar Assailant
- Razia, Boros Archangel (incredibly expensive for her effectiveness; you are likely to not be able to play her when she'd matter)
- First Response (small effect, controlled by opponent actions)
- Boros Cluestone (much better alternatives exist for <50 cents)
- Captain's Call
- Even the Odds (small, controlled by opponents - note because of the phrasing, you likely can't use it at all when some low creature decks are present)
- Raise the Alarm
There are some other iffy ones but seems like a good start.
At base, I'd look to increase boardwipes a lot. Should have at least four. A fast Boros deck throws threats at the board fast; it should be able to recover from a boardwipe quickly. If someone is actually faster, you can open with a cheap boardwipe on T3-5 and THEN start playing the real threats, letting everyone's Llanowar Elves and Serra Ascendants bite the dust.

ComboCrazy Well, there is a lot of good generators for turn 2/3, but I'll just list some of the best ones. Gather the Townsfolk, Timely Reinforcements, Even the Odds, Master's Call (Myr!!!), Raise the Alarm, and, my personal preference Promise of Bunrei.
