Etrata, the Silencer

Etrata, the Silencer

Legendary Creature — Vampire Assassin

Etrata, the Silencer can't be blocked.

Whenever Etrata deals combat damage to a player, exile target creature that player controls and put a hit counter on that card. That player loses the game if they own three or more exiled cards with hit counters on them. Etrata's owner shuffles Etrata into their library.

Etrata, the Silencer Discussion

I think that it's a really cool concept that you're trying to win through Etrata, the Silencer's built in win condition but the legend rule makes it so there can only be one copy of etrata on the field at a time, I see you've added a Helm of the Host to get around the legend rule but you'd need a Mirror Gallery in order for cards like Vesuvan Shapeshifter to copy Etrata, the Silencer and stick around. I think that etrata would be a cool ninja commander because you could use her evasion and have her hit, then with her shuffle trigger on the stack ninjitsu in a ninja to prevent you from having to send her to the command zone. Just my thoughts, Hope this deck turns out great!

I've used Spark Double to copy Etrata, the Silencer. When the copy attacks as per Etrata's rules what gets shuffled into the library?

Is it a copy of Etrata or is it Spark Double?

You can also use a card like Unsummon to bring Etrata, the Silencer back to your hand after it deals combat damage so you don't have to tutor it back.

How does the timing work between a card like Unsummon and Etrata, the Silencer because I always thought that whole paragraph would happen at the same time. Can you interrupt the effect between the exiling and the shuffling?

This week's new deck is $5 Etrata's Assassins - a slightly janky (but very fun) tribal deck built around Etrata, the Silencer.

@GhostChieftain: & I thought a Well-Received MTG Youtuber stated something about Etrata, the Silencer able to attack unimpeded, & not need to put a Hit Counter on anything, even if the opponent has no creatures regardless, & the Counter still counts anyway. I NEED to watch his vid again; I must be un-hearing him while he does a Deck Tech. XL Loyal Retainers goes back in; & whatever other combo pieces does the same; IF they can last.

I'm currently working on an esper millish exile deck using

Kaya, Orzhov Usurper +1 to exile, -5 to deal damage from exile.

Ashiok, Nightmare Muse +1 for exile, -7 to cast exiled cards.

Ashiok, Dream Render to exile and empty graveyards (voids escape/flashback)

Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver +2 exile, -10 to empty hand/graveyard. -10 is tough without proliferate.

Etrata, the Silencer unlockable damage plus alt wincon.

If you decide to make a separate Nightveil Specter deck consider esper and use Athreos, Shroud-Veiled love the idea of putting coin counters on their creatures, then getting to use them against my opponent when they die.

I'm currently working on an esper exile deck as well. Currently using cards I own till I can go buy others but I've added these.

Kaya, Orzhov Usurper using her +1 to exile and -5 to deal damage.

The Wanderer as an exile tactic.

Etrata, the Silencer as unlockable damage plus exile. And if it plays right an alt wincon.
