Erhnam Djinn

Creature — Djinn

At the beginning of your upkeep, target non-Wall creature an opponent controls gains forestwalk until your next upkeep.

Both the cumulative upkeep of Sheltering Ancient and the ability of Erhnam Djinn trigger at the beginning of your upkeep. You control both triggers, so you can choose in which order to put them on the stack.

However, targets must be chosen for the Djinn's ability when you put it on the stack, while you do not choose which creature you'll be giving counters to until the Ancient's ability resolves. Willbreaker will trigger when you target your opponent's creature with the Djinn ability, and that trigger will go on the stack at the top and resolve first. You will gain control of the creature, and then when you resolve the Ancient's ability, you won't be able to put counters on that creature anymore because it's no longer your opponent's creature.

Follow up q then... Erhnam Djinn on field as well. Can the ancient's counters be placed on the creature, and then targetted by djinn's forestwalk, and THAT triggers Willbreaker??

DemonDragonJ on Why Does WotC No Longer …

In the early days of M:tG, WotC occasionally printed cards that were known as "vanity cards," because they were modeled after or clearly inspired by employees of WotC, with two well-known examples being Maro and Erhnam Djinn . However, WotC no longer prints such cards, so I am wondering why that is. Did they believe that it was too arrogant to have "vanity cards?" What does everyone else say about this?

Shame, because Djinns were a big part of Magic's early days. Case in Point: Erhnam Djinn, Mahamoti Djinn.

acbooster on Need Death and Taxes tech

So I'm building a Death and Taxes EDH deck, and I have about half of what I need for it already. Everything else I need is over here Thalia is Incomplete!

I haven't updated my binder in forever so most of it is likely out of date, so what I currently have of note is Fastbond (Unknown printing, most likely 4ED), Rest in Peace, Bonfire of the Damned, Primal Vigor, Spawnsire of Ulamog, Puresteel Paladin, Wilt-Leaf Liege, Helm of Kaldra, Sword of Kaldra, Krenko, Mob Boss, Mox Opal, Erhnam Djinn, and lots of bulk rares mainly from RTR through DTK.

Feel free to ask about specifics, I'm mainly looking to get anything that's below $10 right now since I can proxy the last few until I eventually get them.

H: Fastbond (Unknown printing, most likely 4ED), Rest in Peace, Bonfire of the Damned, Primal Vigor, Spawnsire of Ulamog, Puresteel Paladin, Wilt-Leaf Liege (MM15), Helm of Kaldra, Sword of Kaldra, Krenko, Mob Boss (DD), Mox Opal (MM15), Erhnam Djinn (ARN), lots of bulk rares mainly from RTR through DTK. Ask about specifics, all cards are NM or LP unless otherwise stated.

W: Anything currently on the list here: Thalia is Incomplete!
Priority will go towards any cards under $20 for now, my current playgroup allows proxies for more expensive cards.
