Emberhorn Minotaur

Emberhorn Minotaur

Creature — Minotaur Warrior

You may exert Emberhorn Minotaur as it attacks. When you do, it gets +1/+1 and gains menace until end of turn. (An exterted creature won't untap during your next untap step.)

Emberhorn Minotaur Discussion

I get that Minotaurs don't have a lot of creatures to choose from, but you're running a lot of cards that are just plain bad. Talruum Champion, Emberhorn Minotaur, and so on are cards that perform really poorly in EDH. I'd advise adding a few more rocks and maybe some psuedo-draw that doesn't increase cards in your hand like Frontier Siege and vance's blasting cannons

Thinking about swapping out Granitic Titan with an extra Emberhorn Minotaur and Kitesail Freebooter.

But there's just so little support for soldiers, compared to other tribes. Anyway, LeaPlath is right. Remove some of the cards, that are less-than-great, and up the numbers of cards you'd to draw more often, particularly those you'd like to have from the start of the game. You know, like: "Emberhorn Minotaur is just a dumb, high-costed beater. Lightning Bolt is an awesome card. Less overpriced cow, more ligtning".

Have you considered Emberhorn Minotaur over Ondu Champion? This would free some slots by totally cutting away Ally synergy and let you try something new with more discard/cycle effects and synergies and maybe some Madness.

Hey there,I would suggest you remove Emberhorn Minotaur, Illusory Wrappings and Pitiless Vizier for stuff like Ahn-Crop Crasher, Fatal Push, Tormenting Voice and Merciless Javelineer

And probably would replace Renegade Tactics with Cartouche of Zeal

Tezzeret's Touch has 0 targets main/side, So i'd remove those entirely.

Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh also seems really out of place here....

Argy! Your deck looks really consistent! I really like the way it goes for the face with aggro plays.

I definetely could use Bygone Bishop and Emberhorn Minotaur.

I have 3 Tah-Crop Elite but i'm using only 1 because i felt it was too expensive (mana-wise). What would you consider taking out for it?

I was wondering why did you take out Honored Crop-Captain, Devoted Crop-Mate and Combat Celebrant. They do seem a bit situational but they seem strong to my newb eyes.

I really like your sorcery and enchantment picks. I don't have Cast Out or Declaration in Stone but im gonna try and get a few copies to experiment.

What do you think about what i posted earlier and the changes i might do?

I can definitely see where you are going with this deck. My first Deck ever was almost exactly like this one. If you are looking to exert creatures such as Bitterblade Warrior,Emberhorn Minotaur, and Watchful Naga, I would definitely suggest using a Battlefield Scavenger to get some card draw out of those exerts. Using other exert cards like Ahn-Crop Crasher, will help get big blockers out of the way. For my Amonkhet Prerelease, I went red-green exert and found Synchronized Strike to be one of the key cards in the deck because of its untap ability. I really like this deck and can see a lot of potential in it

Thank you for giving me some feedback! I agree with most of what you said. I definitely feel Emberhorn Minotaur and Throne of the God-Pharaoh are two of the worst cards in the deck. I just took those completely out and added in Ondu Champion for that bonus trample, as well as re-adding Cut / Ribbons, which I've been tinkering on-and-off with. I like the late-game threat the Ribbons portion of the card provides as my Minotaurs start to run out of steam.

However, I like Supernatural Stamina in this deck. Minotaurs are a fairly aggressive archetype, and this card not only provides bonus damage, but can save a life, which I do think is worthwhile. I did swap just now from 4 to 3 copies though.

The problem with Hazoret the Fervent in this deck is that you usually don't have enough cards to use her ability consistently. I have 2 copies though bc I like her a lot. I'll add her to my Maybeboard for now.

Please let me know what you think with the changes I've made!
