Looking at this deck, Master of Cruelties comes to mind. Also Din of the Fireherd, Hellhole Rats and, Sword of Feast and Famine are nasty. The deck does not have much ramp. I would suggest adding cards like Sol Ring, Darksteel Ingot and, Commander's Sphere. Also cards like, The Eldest Reborn, can help if you are playing against more then one opponent. But other then that, this deck looks great!

DrkNinja The way the deck is currently built, Cascading Cataracts doesn't do as much as it could, and I need to make some changes to the mana base to properly use it. I might end up getting Mana Reflection for this deck. Nothing is going to make my deck any less quirky and awkward, thats just the way I want this version of Jodah to be, so long as it works.

I might run Mycosynth Lattice, and run more cards that do stuff with artifacts. I just have to keep in mind it is a nonbo with Din of the Fireherd. I really want to see what I can do with a 5 color artifacts deck so that might end up becoming a second Jodah deck.

Hi there Optimator I have a couple of suggestions for you

  • Din of the Fireherd this card is Evil with Goblin tokens since it can wipe entire boards if you get a lot of tokens out
  • Goblin Sledder + Goblin Tunneler can act as a stealthy alternative to Voracious Dragon if you make Sledder unblockable before making the sacrifice
Hope these suggestions help, also please feel free to check out my deck which is pretty similar I've been looking for some feedback

Hi Herald_of_Eldrazi,

Unfortunately Dark Ritual isn't Standard legal, it isn't even legal in Modern. Rituals have been moved to red; Desperate Ritual, Pyretic Ritual, Infernal Plunge and Simian Spirit Guide being examples which are legal in Modern.

Your deck suffers from not having a turn 1 play, you need to have more 1 mana spells like Lightning Bolt, Faithless Looting, Fatal Push, Inquisition of Kozilek, Gravecrawler, Serum Visions and Spell Pierce it's all about efficiency... At present your deck does nothing turn one and might do something turn 2, by which point you may have taken 5 or more damage.

I have seen a combo deck in the past that ran 4x Wildfire Eternal and 4x Chandra, Pyromaster along with 2x Beacon of Tomorrows 4x Army of the Damned and 2x Din of the Fireherd, that deck had no intention of casting these spells, but was looking to cheat them out.

Your deck seems to be more of a zombie tribal aggro deck, that being the case, I'd suggest upping the count of cheap creatures, like; Dread Wanderer, Cryptbreaker, Slitherhead, Dreadwing and the already mentioned Gravecrawler, pick 2 of these cards and run 4x of each. To make room cut down on your 3+ casting cost cards, Modern is often described as a turn 4 format, due to this cards which cost more than 4 mana need a really good justification for being in a deck.

I hope this helps, have fun brewing your deck.

I've been playing around with my own Jeleva deck and I come back to this deck for ideas on little tweaks. I thought I would pass on a few more cards that have been a lot of fun for me and might be enjoyable for you too.

--Metallurgic Summonings has been one of my favorite cards to get on the board. Gives me some great blockers and potentially all of my spells back to my hand.

-- Jori En, Ruin Diver is a nice card draw engine that is pretty cheap. She's easy to trigger since one of your spells per turn is usually free with Jeleva.

-- Finally, Din of the Fireherd can be pretty mean but it is a way to slow down an opponent without outright murdering someone.

PS-- It sucks that you keep getting all these spam comments

Snap157 on Rakdos; Burn It Down

Alrighty then let's get you all set!

You've got some big things and that's not bad with your commander, but you'll need some cheaper burn spells if Rakdos can really work. With that being said, Lightning Bolt, Lava Spike, Bump in the Night, and Rift Bolt are your best friends. As for land base, try to shy away from basics, but add in as many rakdos duals that don't come in tapped as possible. I'll get you started down below.

While using rakdos, keep in mind that he takes away only colorless mana, so huge eldrazi such as Void Winnower, Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, Pathrazer of Ulamog, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, Desolation Twin and It That Betrays can all go out for free if you play it right.

It's also important to keep in mind that the ability only impacts creatures, so super expensive things like Din of the Fireherd, Subterranean Tremors don't belong.

Furthermore, there are some cards that don't work too well in an aggro build like this and could use an upgrade. Take out:

replace with:

With these changes as well as the ones mentioned above, you'll be well on your way to a hated deck! Good luck!
