you could also consider Bound and Determined for card recursion or Punishment Crime as a good sideboard against token.

Research Development also allow you to grab these cards from outside the game which is very helpful.

Normally Research will do nothing on resolution. From MTGCommander.net:

  1. Abilities which refer to other cards owned outside the game (Wishes, Spawnsire, Research, Ring of Ma'ruf) do not function in Commander without prior agreement on their scope from the playgroup.

If you're playgroup allows it, it's up to them to determine the rules as to what it can grab. I'd suggest preparing a sideboard, and getting it approved by the group, so that you don't have to go searching through a binder on resolution. This should also make them more likely to agree.

Also note that Research, as a split card, gets it's color identity from both halves, making it blue, red, green. I knew someone who tried running Development in his Izzet deck.

Since you imprint the whole card, you can actually choose Development when you cast the copy, even though you imprint Research. I wasn't sure myself, but it worked on MTGO so I think it is a legal combo.
