Ok so you use Desert Nomads with a Desert give them control of it with Harmless Offering or Bazaar Trader then buff and you have a desert walk big boy. people won't see it coming also this is NOT a competitive deck it is a fun combo. Some people don't seem to understand that :(

LeaPlath The point of this deck is not to be "good". It's supposed to use the old cards, and make a terrible card into a pretty good one. I like making decks like this that surprise people for example they won't remove Desert Nomads because they don't realize the threat until later.

I like the idea behind the deck, and Desert Nomads is a beautiful, classic old school card I love. I think you may need more removal/protection just to help cement your strategy though. Maybe some Apostle's Blessings or similar cards.

Just a comment for science (the notification thing). I was amazed by the fact that there was a desert type on things before Amonkhet. Quick search revealed that the only thing Desert Nomads has protection from up until that point (give or take 23 years) was actually... Desert :D.

Does Desert Nomads' prevention ability apply to animated lands with the Desert type, such as Hostile Desert? Also, will it prevent damage from a redirected effect, like from Karona's Zealot?

I'm also taking this opportunity to find out why I didn't receive notifications of people commenting on a previous question of mine, and I want to see if it happens again before I report it as a bug. Please, if you respond, do not tag me--I got the "username mentioned you at" notification, but not the "username commented on" one. If I don't get notified, I'll check for responses tomorrow--thanks!

Dude this is a cool deck. I really like the emphasis on Desert Nomads. It inspired me to make a deck around Bazaar Trader. +1 for sure.
