This looks fun...keep working on it...Izzet is tricky, must find balance. Bloodmad Vampire and Hekma Sentinels are underwhelming unless you can run some evasion like Slip Through Space or Distortion Strike. I am running a 50% similar build..it's a madness/tempo build using Aquamoeba as a discard outlet: Aqua-Madness. I am considering Cunning Survivor for it (thanks to you!).

You're absolutely right. First build had a third color; without it, the fetchlands are a lot less relevant.

Cunning Survivor is good, but the other creatures seem decidedly "just okay." Won't be a competitive brew (at least, as of now) but it's fun and relatively consistent, so far!

So your infinite combo is to draw? Not sure what you do with that except maybe add Cunning Survivor as a win condition because of the discard triggers you can get yourself can make it swing lethal. All you need to do now is give it haste so you can just bring it back from the grave in the triggers.

After some digging in the card data base I found better options would be to run either Marionette Master as you generate an infinite amount of treasure or Faith of the Devoted as you can just drain them out.

For some real spice you can use Fateful Showdown. Not really reccomended

I am not sure why you have Karn, Scion of Urza in this deck idea to much, unless you were trying to get the token. I would skip that idea because the token can still be chump blocked after all. This should also save you a good chunk of cash as he will be a hot card likely.

I would also probably cut the Mox Amber as the card has no real value in the deck. It is a slow mana source as you can't tap it till you get a legendary creature. I could be under valuing it but I am not fond of how long it would take to become active.

I also advise adding counter magic to the deck to make sure you can get your combo off primarily to protect Teshar, Ancestor’s Apostle or to protect any of the suggested cards I mentioned.

Side deck definitely needs the counter magic, but also will want something like Demystify to get rid of any Ixalan's Binding that locks up a part of your combo (yes even squee can get locked up in this).

Best of luck with the deck. Might try this deck idea you have here with some tweaks when set comes out.

Hi fuzzyllama,

I'm afraid Ideas Unbound does not combo with Hollow One, you can't cast Hollow One at the end of your turn (unless you gave it Flash* somehow) as the end of turn occurs after the second main phase.

You could try Chart a Course , Looter il-Kor or Magus of the Bazaar Shinen of Flight's Wings in blue, maybe Phantasmagorian from black. Red has 2 major advantages draw /discard like Faithless Looting & Burning Inquiry and the Flameblade Adept, though blue does have Cunning Survivor...

Thanks for the suggestions, I find that Cunning Survivor dies to removal that the others can survive. Pull from Tomorrow is only good if you have a ton of mana. Nimble Obstructionist is to inconsistent to be affective in most games. I have tested the deck about 200 times of which I have gotten Mana screwed about 5 times I've been flooded about 3 dozen times. So I think the land count is fine.

I like it. If you have room in your budget the cycle lands would work really well here. Also Cunning Survivor would be nice for being unblockable, Nimble Obstructionist could be good in niche places, Pull from Tomorrow can be nice card draw and lets you discard, which can place some cards with cycling into your graveyard for Vile Manifestation . Have you tested this deck at all yet? I'm curious to know how it is performing.

How does this deck work for you in standard? I have been working on a similar deck for a couple of months now and feel like it lacks a little. my deck is more cycling though. I use Flameblade Adept and Cunning Survivor but use Vile Manifestation . Since I am on the cycling route to boost creatures (mostly cunning survivor) I use Champion of Wits, bicycle lands (for the discard, mana fixing and cap my land drops), Censor, Vizier of Tumbling Sands and Hieroglyphic Illumination. The other big thing I use is Fateful Showdown since it discards my hand and draws that many cards (minus 1 because fateful gets used). Basically if you have 2 survivors on the board and can cast fateful showdown for 4 discards at the player, you can deal 14 damage on that swing (turn 4?). My plan b is a couple of locust gods since I have some draw power. Plan c is a single Abandoned Sarcophagus. if you wanna compare notes and try to improve this deck, I'd be up for improving on them. I am gonna post my version of the deck when I finish this comment.
