Some on flavor card choices would be:
Gideon
Jace
Liliana
Chandra
Nissa
Bolas is another story entirely. He has tons of flavor cards. I have personally chosen to leave out Planeswalkers from my Gatewatch decks, leaving the Commander as the only Planeswalker. My Bolas deck will have each copy of Bolas.
Something to note is most cards that benefit Planeswalkers only benefit you, like The Chain Veil. It does not provide benefit to your allies.

Ok, so i made these changes:
3 Thalia, Heretic Cathar for 3 Companion of the Trials.
2x Gideon's Resolve and Hazoret's Favor for 3x Always Watching .
2x Hyena Pack in favor of 2x Trueheart Twins.
2x Solemn Recruit for 2x Sparring Mummy.
With these changes, I'm on 17 W 16 R.
Now, i'm not sure i need the cartouche + trials or the Shock. I have considered just taking them all out for Insult / Injury and more creatures.
I haven't been able to play with the deck since the changes, but today i will. After that, i think i will be able to do more tinkering and i will update the decklist.

So, i visited my shop today and i managed to get these:
3x Thalia, Heretic Cathar (thought it could be a pretty nice beater for the deck, plus i found them really cheap)
2x Lone Rider
I might not have a use for all the creatures but I wanted to experiment with different possible combinations.
Now, I think Thalia, Heretic Cathar is a great replacement for Companion of the Trials.
Im thinking 2x Gideon's Resolve and Hazoret's Favor for 3x Always Watching .
Insult / Injury for Trial of Zeal. Maybe Trial of Solidarity could be better than another Trial of Zeal.
2x Hyena Pack in favor of 2xTrueheart Twins.
2x Solemn Recruit for 2x Sparring Mummy.

Hyena Pack, Sparring Mummy, Companion of the Trials, Pathmaker Initiate, and Gideon's Resolve should be the first cards you replace for better cards as they are really just trash in standard
