tn246, the deck is focused around Charnel Troll which requires a full yard to keep it alive and make it stronger.

The original idea was kind of a budget Golgari deck. All the value in this list is in the removal and the lands essentially. I currently own a more budget version.

A few cards that I think would be good editions are Golgari Findbroker, The Eldest Reborn, Plaguecrafter, Charnel Troll, Seekers' Squire and maybe Demon of Catastrophes.

Thanks for your comment Argy. Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

It's not a pure aggro deck, but it's quite rapid. Those Pelt Collectors are a real pain to try and deal with. Turn one Pelt Collector, turn two Glowspore Shaman means I can swing for two damage on turn two, then playing any of the three drops means I can swing for a further six on turn three. I can reliably deal lethal damage in five turns this way.

If that doesn't work, the game then transposes into a mid-range grind, as you pointed out, and this deck is good in that regard, too. The Midnight Reapers, Vraska, Golgari Queens and Izoni, Thousand-Eyed all provide excellent card advantage. The Find half of Find / Finality and Gruesome Menagerie also grant excellent value - two or three creatures returned for one card can generally overpower spot removal. Gruesome Menagerie in particular, when it goes off, can win games. Control's best response to this deck is a board wipe on turn four or five, and after that they're left tapped out and unable to counter Gruesome Menagerie, which just laughs at board wipes. Even if my opponent plays a board wipe afterwards, I'm still trading one card for one card, plus I get those juicy ETB triggers so even in that scenario I'm ahead. It's a brilliant card, the only question is how many.

When I got back into magic recently I decided I wasn't going to spend a lot of money. Vraska's Contempt is definitely out, for that reason. Though tbh, I'll play Status / Statue in that spot anyway, should I need removal - it's rare I need to gain life, and if I do, Kraul Foragers is perfect. Wait, it's not in my sideboard. Oops. Anyway, Status / Statue for the most part kills a larger range of stuff than Vraska's Contempt.

I'll stick with Kraul Harpooner for now, since as a creature it has synergy with the other cards in the deck, although I haven't even played it yet since I normally just trample over flyers with my Charnel Trolls without really needing to sideboard.

I've been toying with Golgari Findbroker, but tbh it just for the most part seems worse than Gruesome Menagerie, except for fetching Vraska, Golgari Queen, of course. I don't really need it, though. We'll see.

I've updated with how it is now. See if that's aggro enough for you :P

You might want to consider a splash into Black, just for the Charnel Troll and the Cast Down, charnel troll takes over games and Cast Down deals with that annoying curious obsession, Ghalta, or any white weenie cards like Loxodon.

THE BIG MOOD! Awesome.

Yeah I also was thinking it would be a problem. The "combo" part of the deck take too much place imo.

I was planning to either try a GR version, with lots of creature and Kraul Harpooner as a finisher with a PUNCH. It would allow the deck to win without the combo and the other creatures would be big enough to justify the punch by them.

But if I were to keep the GBR version, I would drop Golgari Raiders, Moodmark Painter and maybe Molderhulk. Instead, I would try to get either threat that don't depend on the graveyard : Doom Whisperer ( + the surveil allow us to fill the graveyard like crazy ) or better ones : Charnel Troll.

Tormenting Voice instead of Costly Plunder, it also makes us drop another creature in the graveyard maybe. Assassin's Trophy instead of Find / Finality. Gruesome Menagerie for the super value ( sticher, shaman and jadelight ? ).

I am trying to cut a lots of the combo because the opponent can easily disrupt it, so there have to be another way to win. The GR version will prolly be more consistent about the winning but will not depend on the PUNCH as much as the GBR. This one could go crazy with it tho. Sticher into Shaman into Jadelight into Kraul+Thud ? Could get a 8 or 9 in the op face at turn 4 !

vomitpile I definitely have and the Molderhulk + Memorial to Folly is a great combo which has made me debate to tweak the deck. Charnel Troll just comes down so much faster and threatens them if it's not dealt with and it's a definite three drop. Although kinda of a no-bo with izoni, I think it's discard ability can offset that to some degree.

I want to suggest a few cards. Charnel Troll- feeds off creatures you put into your graveyard early on. Good beater.

Price of Fame- decent removal with a mechanic that can filter your deck and play to your strengths.

Izoni, Thousand-Eyed- great for a late game bomb. It helps against enemy tokes and can go wide against a big stompy deck. Control stuggles against tokens too.

Find // Finality- get back creatures or potential board wipe.

Kraul Harpooner- good against angels.

Journey to Eternity- bring back creatures.

And any Planeswalkers in the right colors except for the starter deck ones. They are usually bad. Which is a shame.

Hey I like what you've got started here. This is a really powerful style to play but watch out for go wide strategies from Boros and Selesnya decks.

Have you considered Charnel Troll? It really feeds well off creatures in your graveyard for a big hitter late game. There's also a decent considerable removal spell called Price of Fame. The surveil mechanic is great for throwing away cards you dont need or filling your graveyard with more creatures for Izoni, Thousand-Eyed
