Brilliant Ultimatum

Sorcery

Remove the top five cards of your library from the game. An opponent separates those cards into two piles. You may play any number of cards from one of those piles without paying their mana costs.

I would recommend some of the Eldrazi titans, such as Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger as some big top end bombs. Some ramp creatures wouldn't go amiss either, such as Birds of Paradise, and Dryad of the Ilysian Grove.

In terms of Instants, Sorceries, and Enchantments, getting some more of the Ultimatum cycle (Brilliant Ultimatum, Cruel Ultimatum, Emergent Ultimatum) might be a good idea, and Sunbird's Invocation would be a good idea too if you are casting such big CMC cards.

Another recommended addition would be Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh as it is just a straight up good card for the colour and big mana theme.

I'd recommend replacing the tapped tri-lands (Arcane Sanctum, Crumbling Necropolis, Frontier Bivouac, Jungle Shrine, Mystic Monastery, Nomad Outpost, Opulent Palace, Sandsteppe Citadel, Savage Lands, and Seaside Citadel) with the shock land cycle (Blood Crypt, Breeding Pool, Godless Shrine, Hallowed Fountain, Overgrown Tomb, Sacred Foundry, Steam Vents, Stomping Ground, Temple Garden, and Watery Grave) as they are easier to fetch for or find with ramp spells.

Final notes: Give the deck a little more of a creature focus, having as few as you have right now you'll find there is very little to hit with your reanimation, but other then that, good job on the first draft! looking forward to see how it plays out!

Kazierts on Primers. For which decks you …

wallisface, that's what I normally aim with my titles. I personally dislike memey titles as cannot see what the goal of the deck is from them. Even in a recent deck I've been working on, Sins of the Brilliant Five, I've tried to use names of the cards I play, namely Sins of the Past, Meeting of the Five and Brilliant Ultimatum.

Similar to what I said in my other comment, what do you think of having a primer divided in small categories, such as in my Monoblack Infect [Competitive/Primer]? This way you can just go exactly where you want an there's no need to read things you don't want. However, I try to be as detailed as possible, so it might not appeal to you.

Motys on Yennett All Odds, No Evens

So first iteration of my yenett deck was put to the test. 3 games, 3 wins. Worth mentioning i'm playing only in paper and that our LGS is small and deck are rather casual (i believe strongest decks are like 6/10 in term of power). We tend to play long games. My build runs 38 lands (21 basics, 1 fetch), and 10 even cards. Cannot provide decklist yet. My build isn't very focused on single target removal. Thou i need to add some removal for enchantments/artifacts. No Future Sight, Sensei, Soothsaying. Rise of the Dark Realms, Anguished Unmaking i have in other decks.

Even cards are : Strionic Resonator (damn this one is strong), Swiftfoot Boots , some 2cmc mana rocks, Supreme Verdict , Wrath of God , Smothering Tithe (Can this get ban already?), Overwhelming Denial .

Since this is "casual", only wheel effect im running along this Smothering Tithe is Dark Deal .

Liliana Vess performed really well. I don't have Animatou. Jace, the Mind Sculptor is probably fine addition to the deck. Dream Cache is probably better than Frantic Search? Living Death is too risky in my opinion.

To protect myself and yenett i'm running packet of : Propaganda , Ghostly Prison , Sphere of Safety , Shielded by Faith , Karmic Justice , Bastion Protector

Ethersworn Adjudicator was really good in my games.

Counterspell package: Stubborn Denial , Disallow , Overwhelming Denial .

Fun's over pack : Time Warp , Temporal Mastery

Examples of odd cards im running: Herald of Leshrac , Artisan of Kozilek , Brilliant Ultimatum , Pathrazer of Ulamog , Blatant Thievery , Void Winnower , Inkwell Leviathan , Mind's Dilation , Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts , Platinum Angel , Angelic Arbiter

If You want to improve Yenett and make deck real nasty , extra turn spells are probably way to go (Nexus of Fate might be really strong). Old Ulamog and New Emrakul are also Odd cards. Magister Sphinx , Enigma Sphinx , Mother of Runes , Iona, Approach of the Second Sun can also be very good.

Hope this helps a little and i'll see another Yenett video on the channel :D

Raid Bombardment and Unified Will are showing the same battle (Same with Knight of Grace and Knight of Malice)

Also, the cycle of ultimatums from alara each have a planeswalker hidden in them. (Brilliant Ultimatum has tezzeret, Cruel Ultimatum has bolas, Titanic Ultimatum has ajani, Violent Ultimatum has sarkaan, and elspeth can be seen in Clarion Ultimatum)

in Blood Artist, he is painting you with your own blood

Hey I used to run a similar deck with Brilliant Ultimatum and Violent Ultimatum (Ultimate Ultimatum if you want to check it out). Spellweaver Helix is also a neat way to get ultimatums out.

Kapitein_Koekblik your assessment is spot on and the same as mine.

I'd take out JTMS and Beacon of Unrest. If you're really keen on Graveyard Recursion due to your creature heavy meta, I'd recommend Rise of the Dark Realms (Why take one when we can take ALL)!

Hatred is only good when you're in a 1 v 1 situation, else it's dangerous and marginal suicidal to use it in multiplayer games. LOL

You may wish to play test Hall of the Bandit Lord and Insidious Dreams too. I've been wanting to test them out but haven't got my hands on these cards. Hall is situational cause the ETB tapped really hurts our tempo. An "end turn" Dreams followed by Brilliant Ultimatum is a good combo though!

Let me know how the testings go. Good times ahead! Cheers.
