Brass Man

Artifact Creature — Construct

Brass Man doesn't untap during your untap step.

At the beginning of your upkeep, you may pay . If you do, untap Brass Man.

God I would love to see that artwork. I bet it'd be beautiful as a foil. I can imagine an Angelic figure, sprouting moss and vines and spores in a grotesquely-Humanoid figure rising up from a bog or graveyard.

I'm going to search for a random MTG creature card, and that creature will be the basis for the challenge unless what I find is represented in 3 or more colors. Then it'd be a bit too easy. So no Dragons or Humans and the like. First one I got was Escape Artist. Nope. Humans and Wizards are too prevalent. Next. Oooh, got Nahiri, the Harbinger. I could do Kor, but I said Creature, not Planeswalker. Next.

Huh. Brass Man. A construct out of color it is!

Mechanized Adaptation

Artifact Creature - Construct

Whenever an equipment is attached to Mechanized Adaptation, put a +1/+1 counter on it.

When Mechanized Adaptation dies, draw a card for each aura that was attached to it.

Flesh and metal, blood and iron. Biology seeks to evolve, engineering seeks to improve. In this, these two contrasting ideologies can find harmony.

2/3

Repeat: A highly unusual color pairing for a creature type.

Hi. Nice deck. I'am planning to build also a Zada pEDG deck.

I would run Brass Gnat over Brass Man

Weapon Surge and Dynacharge also work when Zada isn't online.

Some other creature to condsider:

@FormOverFunction: A very long time ago, Brass Man was my default go to chump blocker whenever it fit the deck theme. I thought it was amazing! A 1/3 for 1?

Who would you all be in M:tG? I’d be Brass Man because I used to be super common (but now I’m weird and sort of out-dated) and you have to pay me if you want me to be useful.

Unfortunately there isn't much of an option for the ruby slippers (anything involving the name "ruby" is Red).

I kinda looked around and thought of stuff that MIGHT work (obviously there aren't any green wicked witches and flying monkeys) but I hope these give you an idea of what you can do:

Bitterheart Witch, Tree Monkey, Wild-Field Scarecrow, City of Brass, Scarwood Treefolk, Bog Imp, Emerald Medallion, Fork in the Road, Brass Man if you don't mind older cards, also maybe Treasure Keeper?

That's what I was able to come with in like... 15 minutes? If you were to expand your colors you may find more options (I could not find a Wizard of Oz and other staple characters in Green/Black).

I hope this helps. I don't know what kind of deck you could build that would fit within the theme and function well, but I wish you luck. Please keep me updated on this. I'm interested in seeing how well this goes.

LeiceTea on Honk me?! Nah, mother f***er, Hankyu!

From what I see the combo you mentioned doesn't work. Dross Scorpion only untaps if the artifact is put into a graveyard from play.

I would drop Brass Man Not good enough for his effect.

Mycosynth Golem?

Pithing Needle is a great sideboard choice against a deck that is built around a card with an activated ability. If you can stop the card that they build around, you win. Also it can be pulled out with Trinket Mage.
