Barbed Foliage

Enchantment

Whenever a creature attacks you, it loses flanking until end of turn.

Whenever a creature without flying attacks you, Barbed Foliage deals 1 damage to it.

Rhadamanthus on Can I order triggered abilities …

You can't get the full result you're going for here. Yes, you can choose the order of triggers you control that are trying to go onto the stack at the same time, but the problem is that Barbed Foliage doesn't trigger in this situation.

When your opponent declares Storm Crow as an attacker, both Gravity Well and Raking Canopy trigger because it's a flying creature. You put those triggers on the stack in the order of your choice and they resolve. After Gravity Well causes it to lose flying, you don't back up the game and "re-check" for Barbed Foliage's trigger. The moment when it could have triggered (your opponent declaring attackers) has already passed.

TehGrief on Can I order triggered abilities …

I control Gravity Well, Raking Canopy and Barbed Foliage.

My opponent attacks me with a Storm Crow that has been pumped with a Giant Growth (fearsome, I know).

Am I able to order each of the triggers so that Raking Canopy triggers first (dealing 4 damage to an attacking creature with flying), Gravity Well triggering second (forcing the Storm Crow to walk like a peasant), and finally triggering Barbed Foliage to deal the remaining damage to the massive threat that is attempting to end my miserable existence?

I think it works really well with her powers as someone who sees and alters fates. I'd like to see a card, preferrably a commander, with a unique built-in pillowfort method.

Current methods or deterrence:

Full Protection: Blazing Archon, Peacekeeper, and Glacial Chasm

Conditional Protection: Arboria, Elephant Grass

(Mana) Tax effects: Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, Archangel of Tithes, Archon of Absolution, Forbidding Spirit, Elephant Grass, Windborn Muse, Baird, Steward of Argive, and War Tax (My favorite, I love the politics!)

Other costs: Norn's Annex, Reclamation, Flooded Woodlands

Hurt the attacking creature: Barbed Foliage, Briar Patch, Sarkhan the Masterless, Lightmine Field, and Lost in the Woods

Hurt the attacking player: Revenge of Ravens, Hissing Miasma, Blood Reckoning, Marchesa's Decree, Riddlekeeper? (Is this even a downside? It's not a cost, per the rules.)

Protect/Help you, the defending player: Revenge of Ravens, Righteous Cause, Orim's Prayer, Isperia, Supreme Judge, Search the Premises, Thantis, the Warweaver, Slumbering Dragon

I don't count Aurification-style effects, as the damage was already dealt.

I love how awesome Goblin Sharpshooter is in this. The overall deck is a great treacherous build, perfect for a politics oriented group game.

Some additional self-defense cards you can consider:Barbed Foliage, Blood Reckoning / Hissing Miasma

Still experimenting with the card list.

Tested against a deck that ran Dictate of Erebos with cards like Endless Cockroaches. Painful. Best answer was to try to wait and just use flyers when they came out, but he had sac outlets as well, so no-go.

First Cut:
Out:
1x Barbed Foliage (Didn't do much. Would work against endless 1/1 tokens, as in a Presence of Gond deck.),
1x Caltrops (Didn't do much. See comment just above.),
1x Flamewake Phoenix (nonbos with AEther Flash).
In:
1x Sylvan Primordial,
1x Polis Crusher (to help with enchantments),
1x Ember Swallower,
1x Chandra's Ignition.

Will Try Next:
Out:
1x Sylvan Primordial,
1x Polis Crusher (May keep after all.),
1x Ember Swallower.
In:
2x Natural End (Helps with non-creature problems. My ramp supports this over Naturalize.),
1x Fleetfeather Sandals (Very useful. Wanted another. Bladed Pinions would be good in this slot too.).

AEther Flash has been good, but it comes out late against some decks. If I drop them, I could add back in Flamewake Phoenix and Polis Crusher.
