Balduvian Warlord's ability is a callback to False Orders, the only other effect I can think of.

Polaris Balduvian Warlord is the only effect in existence, to the extent of Scryfall's knowledge.

Balduvian Warlord is a good example of this, after a quick Scryfall look

Did both. Challenge: Balduvian Warcry was shaped after Balduvian Warlord's ability. Do another combat trick that imitates any creature's ability.

We are in complete agreement about Saskia the Unyielding being a warrior, not so much a soldier. Perhaps even a berserker? When I first saw the woad paint on her, I immediately became hopeful that she was Balduvian. And speaking of Balduvians, what's your stance on Balduvian Warlord?

I applaud your first-ever commander deck, absolutely. I'm making my first-ever commander deck as well, I've held out for sooo long! What's the deal with 40 life, anyway? Most of the EDH games I'm aware of are multiplayer, which makes me think players need to bring a pillow to games so they can take a nap while waiting for their next turn. Aren't multiplayer games long enough for these animals? We need to find a way to drag these games out even longer!? Why must I be a man without a country!?

Alas, the local scene around here is pretty much exclusive to commander decks.

Medic allows my army to just keep swinging with the indestructible on the attack and seems like it will be more useful overall than the Warlord. The ability to counter X-cost spells is also a great upside.

Rhadamanthus on General Jarkeld is strange.

An additional note: compare/contrast this with Balduvian Warlord, which can specifically cause an attacker to become unblocked as part of its effect. As BlueScope pointed out, General Jarkeld doesn't do this.
