Angel's Mercy Discussion

Looks pretty good for a beginner deck. The way it's constructed is pretty sound, it's just got a lot of cards that aren't super competitive or aren't really meant to fit together, but that's not your fault, you just worked with what you got, and the result looks okay.

There aren't really many suggestions I can make without knowing your collection, but you can probably find something to replace Angel's Mercy . It's the only card in your deck I would call straight up terrible.

I'm a simple man. I see Angel's Mercy in the deck, and I leave.

Here might be some cards that can be helpful:

Cards suggested to cut:

The reasons the card listed above to cut is one of few reasons either they don't do much, better alternatives, or they don't further your game plan enough to make an impact. By meta I meant, the type of decks you are facing as your meta might be filled with more aggro players than if that's the case you might want to add in a Ghostly Prison for example, or if you are facing a lot of reanimation decks than adding in a Relic of Progenitus or Tormod's Crypt can be fairly helpful. Against control players than you might want to consider a lot Silence/Orim's Chant effects.

Aside from that, some non-budget friendly cards are the obvious Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Teferi's Protection, or Vedalken Orrery. Winding Canyons can also be helpful to flash out Evra or your Felidar Sovereign to sneak in that win.

Hope that helps!

Greetings, Would you be able to give some idea of how you envision the deck playing out? Knowing that would help with any advice someone may give. That being said, since the deck seems budget, you might want to consider the following.

Demystify replaced with Disenchant or Oblation. Angel's Mercy can be replaced with Soul Warden.

I think you should really up the land count to at least 32 or so, even for a monocolored deck.

Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots might help protect your general as well as other creatures.

Finally, think about adding some ways to ramp your mana. There are not a lot in monowhite, but Sword of the Animist and Knight of the White Orchid may be a good start.

Hope that helps! :)

Angel's Mercy

You gain 7 life. You may instead gain 4 life and draw 1 card, or gain 0 life and draw 2 cards.

7 life typically sets you up for only a single turn. So unless you run a deck where you pay life as an extra resource, it's generally a bad idea to spend precious mana on life. Unless you can win the next turn, it's kind of like Fog - You buy a turn, at most.

Keep it going.

I see the card Angel's Mercy. Just, no. It's such a useless card. Renewed Faith is strictly better.
