Affa Protector Discussion

You need to cut the lame stuff, like Kor Scythemaster and Affa Protector, to have a land base between 36-40. I know Cavern of Souls is expensive nowadays, but maybe Path of Discovery and Unclaimed Territory will help out.

i don t like Affa Protector, i m sure you can find something cheap much better.. now you can change the number of cards to change the pace of your game, i would go with 4 Blessed Alliance and 4 Always Watching , maybe 1 avacyn is enough and 2 Elusive Tormentor  Flip, make some playtest and find out!

Which is better Affa Protector who can also attack or Always Watching which buffs everyone and doesn't require Odric....I think I just answered my own question...

You need to get a full play set of the Ally Encampment and Caves of Koilos. You should also consider Vampire Envoy. She's great for tapping for attack or for cohort abilities and she makes a decent defender as well. Affa Protector should also be considered as you will most likely need to defend yourself long enough to get your 7 drop out.

Stone Haven Outfitter, Stoneforge Acolyte & Weapons Trainer bring a great sinergy to the equipment deck. I like to add Affa Protector to decks that feature any Cohort ability since he can attack, then get tapped during opponents end step to utilize the cohort ability. @Aruun suggested quite a few enchantments to pump your creatures, but I'd say to avoid enchantments that would take away equipments since they don't dissolve when the creatures leave the battle field, and they are the main theme of this deck

Kazuul's Toll Collector Is really out of place in this deck. He sure can equip equipment for free, but Spidersilk Net only gives toughness and reach, and most likely Stoneforge Masterwork doesn't ever give him more than +3/+3 in the one occasion that you have only Kazuul's out.

Some interesting replacements would be creatures with built in effects that could benefit from your token generation from your monks and Stoneforge.Consul's Lieutenant,Affa Protector,Iroas's Champion. Goblin Piledriver (Good against those matchups involving blue disruption, buffs from the rest of those goblins!) Etc. Etc.

Otherwise it's really great :)
