Note: Sorry for my absence these past couple of weeks, I haven't had a lot of time. I am working on college applications and such.

So... I have an article that is only about Fetches... we'll get there a bit later, but for now, I want to give you guys a general idea of how you may want to deal with spoiled cards. To do that, let me explain how I deal with spoilers.

When I see spoilers that I like, the first thing I do is write them down. This means I will remember at later dates, what caught my eye. Second I write which cards may synergize well, as well as support cards that would be used in those decks. Then, when I go to buy, I list all the cards together and star each repeat card. Usually cards that I think will rise, as well as the top card on that list are the cards I look to spec. I suggest at least writing your floor, and when you would be interested in buying in (price wise).

Pretty simple, but I felt that it was a little piece that I should do before announcing my plans for the next 2 weeks. What I want to do, is have you guys e-mail your "fantasy" buylist of 10 cards you think will go up, and a brief description why. Plot twist: A week after pro tour, I will look at all lists submitted before the sets release, and the person with the most on point list (cards/prices) will get one card of their choice from that list. If you're wondering why I'm doing this then its because I am in a giving mood, and I feel bad for missing spoiler season. So, there is no price limit, but the cards must be from Khans, and they cannot be foils of rares or mythics.

I am not going to give you my list until after the submissions end, and hopefully I will do some weekly updates on cards from those lists, and standings. Stay tuned for a few brewing articles in the future, as well as changes to the Skulker deck.

I wholeheartedly support this... lagomorph? I don't know what phylum Ferrets belong to in the animal kingdom. At any rate, I applaud your challenge to your readers!

There are a lot of potential cards in KTK that will see cross format play. Though I'm interested in your fetches article. I for one really dislike these fetches because it makes the ally shard decks more relevant to play than the enemy wedge decks. I've pretty much already know what will be added to the standard meta since I know every card in KTK right now. All thanks to me doing our database u

Can I give people a hint as to what to expect to go up? :D

I also sent in my list, and I think I got a few shoe-ins, and a few stretches. It should be interesting to see if I do well in this contest. Thank you for doing this OutspokenFerret.

I appreciate what you are doing Ferret, it is really awesome. I just sent you my list.

September 14, 2014 4:07 p.m.

I have submitted an entry. This should be a lot of fun (although my speculation skills are about 0)!

I have submitted An entry. Let's see how i do on this set last set i did terrible miscalled rabblemaster hard called it a bulk rare

Anyone not submitting a list that wants to help me with getting stats organized? It would be much appreciated :D

Also as a response to those who say they have 0 spec skills, dont worry about it, just think, would I pay X moneyz for card Y, and if not, its not a good spec, and if yes, add a fee dollars and ask again. Remember that you are a consumer as of now, and you tend to set the prices by what your willing to pay for, unless someone buys out, that can be unpredictable sometimes though.

My best advice for specs I can give right now without giving anything away is to rate cards for each Magic Persona (Spike, Jimmy, Timmy, Competitive, Casual, EDH, Eternal), and spec the highest rated ones that are within your buy range.

Quick question, when will the prices be initially marked? Simply because I don't expect a ton of these to rise dramatically, as preorder prices are typically high. In fact, sometimes maintaining their preorder price is impressive enough

September 15, 2014 11:31 a.m.

Prices are going to be marked the day after or of release.

September 15, 2014 2:25 p.m.

I think the day after would be best so cards can drop a bit. Also, i submitted a list, but i would still love to help you out

September 15, 2014 2:43 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #18

I can help with the stats, though unsure of what exactly you mean by it. I'm pretty sure it is just comparing prices, nothing really statistically involved.

September 15, 2014 4:08 p.m.

Stuff along the lines of: Most picked card, current top 10 cards, standings, etc.

Also anyone that submitted a list without prices, please be sure to send me another email with your estimated price for the cards on your list.

September 15, 2014 4:50 p.m.

I can't see fetches being overly used in Standard because of the absence of shocks.

September 15, 2014 6:56 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #21

Fetches are THE best mana base in standard SwaggyMcSwagglepants. Case in point, in modern, if you have basics, most of the time you are fetching basics. But the biggest reason why they are the best mana base is that everything else either does damage on tap, or enters the battlefield tapped.

Because we have ally fetches, ally decks are going to be a ball at the park in terms of mana consistency. It is such an odd idea that they would put in ally fetches when they are trying to promote enemy colours. My only guess is that something is either going to happen in the second two sets that will make ally fetches a lot more prevalent, and/or something in the block after this.

Femme_Fatale says... #22

Now what do you mean by top 10 cards, OutspokenFerret? Top 10 cards in what? In price? In availability? Most cards that were correct? And how about standings? Does this refer to cards or to people? I'd like to help you, but without a more specific criteria I can't produce statistical results.

And we are doing this on the 27th correct? Lucky that's a Saturday.

September 15, 2014 8:49 p.m.

That's the plan. Thanks a lot Femme :D

September 16, 2014 1:12 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #27

I'll keep an 11 day record of every single card and their fluctuating prices then.

September 16, 2014 2:27 a.m.

The prices are marked on the 27th, until then you can still submit a list so there is no need to start recording prices till then :D, right now I'm finishing up the fetches article btw, should be up in the next week or so.

Jaxis says... #29

We had enemy fetches (Zendikar) in the same standard as ally shards (Alara) so the other way around makes just as much sense right Femme_Fatale?

And Fetches in certain colors are going to be huge, simply because they will be modern legal. No more using Misty Rainforest or Scalding Tarn for a gruul aggro deck, for instance, now that Wooded Foothills is here.

Specs submitted.

Thanks for this opportunity Ferret. You're the man.

If you want any help whatsoever of clerical things and organization, I'm here for you. I know you left that only to people that didn't submit a list, but if you need another, you can call on me.

September 18, 2014 10:06 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #31

Currently, everything is to be fairly expected in price fluctuations, but there is one card that just made me go ...

HOLY SHIT

If only I had bought them before its price-hike x.x

September 23, 2014 12:26 a.m.

Alright guys, I'm going close voting now, haven't had a submission in a while, and I am going to start on organization before we get prices marked. So in light of that, the card Femme_Fatale is most likely referring to is Sorin, who jumped $10. He is really good, and I'm sad it was before marking, I may make a special exception to allow any card that jumped $5+ this week because my OP had nothing about the marking date but we will see. As for my specs, I will be doing an article on that, but as a teaser, I bought 41 Sultai Charm at $0.40

September 23, 2014 7:40 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #33

It's just hype though Ferret. The new sorin isn't that good. We still have the vastly superior Elspeth, Sun's Champion and the new Sarkhan which also went up $5. Beyond some of the fetches, the next two cards that jumped the most was Crackling Doom and Clever Impersonator , both because of their EDH value.

September 23, 2014 1:05 p.m.

This is actually going very well for me. I was smart enough to choose Sorin, Solemn Visitor , Butcher of the Horde , andUtter End . However, Narset, Enlightened Master :(.

How's everyone else doing?

September 25, 2014 10:57 p.m.

Femme_Fatale - I have a list of cards from peoples submissions as well as how many times that card was listed, how do you want the list sent? ie. E-Mail, Wall Post, etc.
