  1. Survival of the Fittest.... good tutor and flexible without really giving anything up
  2. Land Tax.... insures you don't lose in a mana race and allows you to keep low mana starting hands
  3. Necropotence
  4. Moat for amazing control
  5. Future Sight
  6. Fastbond no competition
  7. Control Magic
  8. Rancor wins games

Real disappointed Doubling Season isn't in here. I mean, really. Like, that's well above and beyond honorable 17th place mention here, folks. Easy top ten, if not top five. Speaking of honorable mentions, I really think the CoP quintet should be in here somewhere. But then, I'm old school like that.

1) Survival of the Fittest - I actually feel Sterling Grove is a close match here. Just not close enough to win it.
15) Armadillo Cloak - I'm sorry, but this kicks Land Tax in the nyuts. Squah in the nyuts.
3) Necropotence - I will forever pronounce this incorrectly, and for that alone it deserves to be the #1 seed. No, wait. It deserves #1 seed for being the best darn enchantment.
13) Grave Pact - I feel sorry for the person who brought Moat to this fight.
5) Sylvan Library - This one feels pretty obvious. Sort the top three cards every turn? Pluck an extra for 4 life? Sure!
6) Phyrexian Arena - I feel like Fastbond is the asshole planeswalker's choice here.
7) Mirari's Wake - I'm a big fan of Control Magic but it got a bad luck matchup early.
9) Oblivion Ring - C'mon, man. Rancor is nice, don't get me wrong - an Aura that doesn't get 2-for-1'd? Yeah, good times. But this is powerful removal in white, and you don't see that often enough.

Tough match-ups on some of these. I like it!
1. Survival of the Fittest - Creature fetching does tend to be rather useful.
2. Land Tax - I love me my Cloak, but the Tax is way too good at what it does while being less vulnerable to removal.
3. Necropotence - Looking for answers at a simple price beats having to jump through a hoop to replay an answer.
4. Grave Pact - I tend to prefer enchantments that leave a little collateral in their wake.
5. Future Sight - While presenting a later impact than its opposition, I know I won't forget any triggers on this one. Suck on that, Shandalar.
6. Fastbond - Ooooh, sexy ramping!
7. Control Magic - At least a one-for-one, with sexy results.
8. Rancor does win games.

@mossflower - Doubling Season is just outside the 16. Honorable mention.

  1. Survival of the Fittest - Close fight, but I think Survival of the Fittest is more useful
  2. Land Tax - no contest
  3. Recurring Nightmare - repeatable one-sided Exhume. Crazy in any graveyard deck
  4. Moat - Iconic, simple, hoses most decks
  5. Sylvan Library - Another tough call, but the "may" in Sylvan Library plus its cheaper cost win
  6. Fastbond - Crazy with landfall, one of the best ramp cards in the game
  7. Mirari's Wake
  8. Oblivion Ring - Jace, the Mind what?

  1. Survival of the Fittest. Busted.
  2. Land Tax. Again, busted.
  3. Necropotence. Ridiculous.
  4. Grave Pact. Just so funny and fun to play with.
  5. Future Sight. Having a bigger maximum hand size is pretty good.
  6. Fastbond. Any combo deck ever.
  7. Mirari's Wake. Obvious choice.
  8. Rancor. The only aura worth playing, in my opinion.

  1. Survival of the Fittest wins because of my Big Green Survival deck
  2. Land Tax wins because it isn't just really good, it also rewards intelligent play
  3. Necropotence wins for the same reasons as Land Tax, above
  4. Moat wins for straight power level reasons
  5. Future Sight wins because it says "I challenge you to draw as many cards as you can"
  6. Phyrexian Arena wins because personal a personal Howling Mine is the best kind of Howling Mine
  7. Control Magic wins because gimme that
  8. Oblivion Ring wins because it's the perfect answer to pretty much any problem

(1) Sterling Grove is less degenerate and more nifty.

(2) Armadillo Cloak was one of the first multicolor cards I saw, and so even though it's super bad I love it.

(3) Recurring Nightmare is just silly, and fantastic in a graveyard deck.

(4) Grave Pact because it's actually interactive.

(5) Future Sight is silly and was a fun set.

(6) Phyrexian Arena is super good.

(7) Mirari's Wake is OP.

(8) Rancor is my favorite card. GET MAD!

  1. Survival of the Fittest - very nice tutor for good creatures. and very cheap to play
  2. Land Tax - good first drop, keeps your lands flowing, and fill up your hand for later
  3. Necropotence - card advantage is king in magic
  4. Moat - moat used to lock down so many decks(red, black, and green)
  5. Future Sight - both amazing for each color, but being able to play the extra cards is what makes future sight brutal
  6. Fastbond - sure I'll pay 3 life to start the game with a massive headstart
  7. Control Magic - propably my favorite enchantment ever. opponents taps outs to play something cool, and I take it next turn. Effectively removing their best creature and blocker.
  8. Rancor - allows green to trample over anything in 5 turns (or less with berserk or reanimate spells)

no love for Mana Flare, Treachery, Yawgmoth's Bargain, Propaganda, Arcane Laboratory, Dream Halls, or Mind Over Matter? I remember all being very powerful at the times.

Survival of the Fittest - I always prefer creatures to enchantments

Land Tax - I almost never use enchant creatures

Necropotence - Need less cards to combo

Grave Pact - Pretty tight match up here.

Sylvan Library - The casting cost is acceptableBoth are awesome cards

Control Magic - I always been a fan. My first deck from 1996 runs 4 of them.

Oblivion Ring - I absolutely love Rancor and runs 4 of them in my standard deck, but Oblivion Ring is just to versatile.
