We have no use of Full Moon's RiseMTG Card: Full Moon's Rise at the moment so Nightbird's ClutchesMTG Card: Nightbird's Clutches looks like the only card in our color which is useful. Would work good against Typhoid RatsMTG Card: Typhoid Rats, which was discussed for hate draft, to protect Kessig CagebreakersMTG Card: Kessig Cagebreakers.

I'm not convinced, I think we are set for going after GW, with maybe a splash of red. I don't think it's wise to use nab a red card here because it's in color. Night TerrorsMTG Card: Night Terrors can really hurt us because they can exile our cagebreakers or laurels before they ever hit the field. I think hate-drafting Night TerrorsMTG Card: Night Terrors is a good idea here.

Since we are going w/g and its only the first pack, I would probably pick Full Moon's Rise. Yeah, its a bit of a gamble, but if we get enough werewolves in later packs it will be worth it.

I really don't think we'll be getting enough werewolves for that to be worth it. We seem to be more random swarm, which isn't exactly wolf-like. I seriously doubt that we'll either want or even be able to pick up much more than three or four werewolves, and so I believe hate-drafting Night TerrorsMTG Card: Night Terrors is our best option.

We already have GeistflameMTG Card: Geistflame so I'd like a little more red support incase we go tri color. I'd like us to get Nightbird's ClutchesMTG Card: Nightbird's Clutches. Make our op's creatures unable to block then pump with Laurels for the win.

Nightbird's ClutchesMTG Card: Nightbird's Clutches

Nightbird's ClutchesMTG Card: Nightbird's Clutches, as it's one of our colors and totally awesome. It was one of the key cards that helped get me into prizes at the Dark Ascension prerelease.

looking at DKA, I think we'll probably get a few werewolves from the next couple packs and so I'm going to go with Full Moon's RiseMTG Card: Full Moon's Rise. The problem I have had lately in drafting is color discipline. I've been picking white and then another color, but I can never stay to that color so I flip back and forth between them until pack 3 where I'm suddenly dominant in white but mediocre at best in red and green. I think we may want to stick to the two colors we've drafted and stay with them rather than try to put more red in. If we do pick up Nightbird's ClutchesMTG Card: Nightbird's Clutches then we may continue to pick up more red cards as we go eventually leaving us with a few more red cards than we had originally intended and so it will no longer be just a splash.

All that to say

Full Moon's RiseMTG Card: Full Moon's Rise gets my vote.

Pretty mixed up jumble of opinions. Leaving it open.

There's nothing really in this pack we're likely to run, so looking at cards to cut, Full Moon and Night Terrors are the likely candidates. Both can wreck us - Night Terrors proactively and Full Moon through making enemy werewolves just absolutely silly. (Can't block profitably because of trample, can't kill them because of the regenerate, and an extra power just for grins).

Full Moon's RiseMTG Card: Full Moon's Rise gets my vote, because it's viable hate and it might even come in for our deck if we just happen to pick up a few wolvies later (I don't think that's likely, but it's not inconceivable).

If we're hate drafting at this point, i'd say Full Moon's RiseMTG Card: Full Moon's Rise. The last couple of packs we've seen have not had werewolves so somebody is drafting them already. I'd rather get a card exiled from my hand then face 2 or 3 trample wolves with a removal card that probably won't kill any of them.

January 29, 2012 7:34 p.m.

Okay, that's a really good point about someone already grabbing the wolves. Yeah, I change my vote to Full Moon's RiseMTG Card: Full Moon's Rise.

I don't see Nightbird's ClutchesMTG Card: Nightbird's Clutches making it into our deck, and I think sarpnasty is probably right. I have to go Full Moon's RiseMTG Card: Full Moon's Rise.

Full Moon's RiseMTG Card: Full Moon's Rise. We probably won't end up in red anyway, the way it looks so far.

I really don't think we are going to pick up much in the way of werewolves in DKA. if we look at the results of our current other picks from this pack, we can clearly see all the other decent green cards are gone, and one horrible white card was also taken, so we may have several green drafters and at least one other person is in white... you don't take those horrible dogs unless you are desprate for something in your color...Plus lets not forget most of the werewolves are pretty darn forgettable in DKA.

As for what to hate.... the clutches make some sense... but i think what might make more sense is Markov PatricianMTG Card: Markov Patrician which i think is just the best card of the pack at this point. Plus we are green white looking to close this game out as quickly as possible... what messes with our ability to do that more than our opponent gaining life? I say we hate draft the life linker.... secondarily i would go for the Nightbird's ClutchesMTG Card: Nightbird's Clutches, so unless i see more people favoring the patrician, i would put my vote down for the clutches at this point.

Time is up, and Full Moon's RiseMTG Card: Full Moon's Rise has a decent-enough edge to move on.
