With Dragons of Tarkir, a new enchantment has piqued my interest: Impact Tremors. Not quite the strength of a purphoros, but luckily also not quite the price, making it a much better inclusion for my budgetized version of this deck type :)Dropped red
BimmyTarnes, 9 years ago
Decided on dropping the red to capitalize off new cards coming in from Dragons of Tarkir and also the removal that whit has by itself so it'll be losing the speed red provides for a safer-ish midgameWhy there are "1 of's" in my deck

A few of my friends keep asking me "Why is there a Savage Hunger in your deck?"
Or, "Why do you have Ghostform in your deck?"
ANSWERS!!
Ghostform and Savage Hunger:
Often in my playtesting, I'm left with a spare tutor or Wargate. I decided to put 1 copy of a few cards in the deck that can be transmuted to help secure victory if the combo is going. Besides, I have infinite mana who cares about mana costs
This is a 1 of for one reason. If I'm left with a spare Wargate or Drift of Phantasms, I can tutor for this to make sure that my opponents don't find an answer to my creatures.

Going to test this deck on Magic Monday at my local store tomorrow. I will report back here for future reference =).Sideboard
CPD, 9 years ago
Ok, I'm doing some work with sideboarding cards. I've taken one Dragon Fodder out and swapped in one Impetuous Sunchaser, with the fodder going into sideboard, in case the flying and haste won't matter much. Dragonrage can be swapped with one more Trumpet Blast, or a Magmatic Chasm to switch finishing moves. (Sarkhan's Rage can also be swapped for the chasm if I feel like it's needed) Roast is sideboard for a lightning strike, but I only have one for now. Hopefully, I'll pull more, but for now, one will do. Also, I think I'm going to sideboard off Mob Rule in case I know a game might go long enough to need it. Instead, I think I'll add the first of hopefully a few Impact TremorsMentor & Wingmate, we commend you for your service

Monastery Mentor is a great card, especially in this deck. But, it's better in my Tiny Leaders deck Shu Young Money, it dies too often, and my deck needed to get more streamlined.
Let us have a moment of peace for the Monastery Mentor.
Then Wingmate Roc. I knew you were a star the day I opened you. The day after, it was the norm to run Rocs. I am sad, but you are having a spot somewhere if I can find one.
Let us have another moment of peace for the Wingmate Rocs.
We all hope you have more playability and value in my Tiny Leaders deck.

Also got a Batterskull from my LGS with some extra store credit. It replaced Abhorrent Overlord.sammi2shoes, 9 years ago
Dat Sarkhan tho
HelltotheHeavens, 9 years ago
If only that new Sarkhan Unbroken could be the commander. Oh well, when I get one, he will probably replace the other Sarkhan or Chandra.
Also, I found Ruric Thar, the Unbowed to be more of a hindrance. I switched him out with Hypersonic Dragon because who doesn't like casting a Treasure Cruise on the opponents end step.

Major Deck Change pt 2
ferfy, 9 years ago
I decided to start to run Pact of Negation. Using Trickbind I can counter the ability that would make me pay the 3UU so I could play pact as early as turn 2 (Not that I would because that would be a 2-1 in favor of my opponent). It also opens things up for me later game where I can surprise someone with a counter when I'm tapped out.
The second major change in the removal of Intangible Virtue. I'm still not so sure about this change. I put in Myth Realized which would act as a second mana sink Tasigur being the first. It also has "protection" from sorcery speed boardwipes. The removal of Intangible Virtue does make me more susceptible to Electrickery and Forked Bolt. (Delver is very popular in my area). As of right now, I think that my best matchup is against Bloom Titan because I can deal with all of their win-cons very easily with Trickbind for the Hive Mind win and Path to Exile against the Primeval Titan route. This combined with running 5x hand disruption cards makes it a very frustrating game for my opponent.

I had the opportunity to try the deck out in a 5-player game last night. My opponents were using the following commanders:
The game was pretty tight. Zameck Guildmage was ramping out of control and making giant beaters so I used my resources to keep him from getting out of control. I was able to do a couple cool plays where I tapped my commander to steal his attacker, Ghostly Flicker it to untap it and keep it (new instance of the creature), untap my commander and steal another attacker, then block the remaining two with his creatures, killing them all.
Changeling Titan was a behemoth smashing people for near-lethal commander in one blow and the threat of taking it kept it from swinging at me. Late game after Changeling Titan and Orzhov Guildmage died I was able to do some more combat tricks to stop the Nyx Weaver's assault on me and kill all of his creatures and then stole the Zameck Guildmage's last beater afterwards to finish them both off. All in all a very fun game.
FNM 3rd Place!
Derpachus, 9 years ago
Went to FNM this weekend, surprised I placed as good as I did. Here is the breakdown of the rounds:
Round One: Jeskai Tokens 2-0: Very easy game, Kolaghan's Command the real MVP in this round, killing everything my opponent played along with Magma Jet and Lightning Strike. I clutched out a game one win sitting at one life and my opponent at 23.
Round Two: Temur Monster's 1-2: I faced one of my playtesting buddies, surpassing him in game one, but games 2 and 3 his Xenagos, the Reveler killed me off. I also had another clutch game one sitting at 2 life.
Round Three: Jeskai Burn 2-1: I don't get why I lost game one. I had no red mana at all. Games two and three I crushed with Stormbreath Dragon and Butcher.
Round Four: Esper Control 2-0: Mastery of the Unseen the MVP in game two. Game one I crushed with Stormbreath and Butcher. Game 2 he killed off everything I played, but I got manifest tokens to slaughter him in 2.
Overall, I did amazing, sitting at 3-1 for the night. And, as always
Have fun, and Happy Slaughtering!

Discarding the mill
JrFireballNr2, 9 years ago
I have decided to change this deck by using discard in a larger extent. It will mainly use dicard instead of mill as a way to win the game. I will/have add sevral cards that either: 1. Discard 2. Taking advantedge of opponents discarding cards 3. Force feed: for the purpose of accelerating the rate of cards that becomes discarded.prestovenger, 9 years ago
I've been rethinking about this deck. I've added more removal and more lower cost creatures into the sideboard to answer RW weenie aggro decks. I'd say the biggest flaw of this deck is its speed--it's midrange, but without a lot of removal. suggestions?A bit of a change.

Changed Idyllic Tutor for Ring of Three Wishes Better overall value, and allows for time between tutors.
Changed Crucible of Worlds to Worn Powerstone With the added tutors, so Sun Titan can be played easier, there isn't really a need for a $40 card. As well, it's additional mana that can untap with Hokori, Dust Drinker on the board.
Changed Hallowed Burial for Mastery of the Unseen More ways to cheat out those scary drops, right?
